Walking for hearts. Walking for hope. ❤️ Last weekend, Metrolink team members participated in the Greater Los Angeles Heart & Stroke Walk, raising $8,700 to support the American Heart Association and its mission to advance lifesaving science and education. Some walked in honor and memory of friends, family, and colleagues whose lives were impacted by stroke or heart disease—reminding us why this work matters so deeply. Together, we’re helping fund research that: -Creates artificial heart valves -Prevents strokes -Corrects heart defects in newborns -Advances lifesaving treatment And helps all of us live longer, healthier lives. As a regional transportation provider, we’re proud to support the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve—on and off the train.

Metrolink CEO, Darren Kettle, recently joined leaders from LA28, LA Metro, City of Los Angeles, LADOT, Caltrans, and SCAG at the 2028 Games Regional Transportation Summit. Participants are actively shaping strategies for a seamless, equitable, and innovative transportation experience in 2028 while laying the foundation for a lasting mobility legacy and a stronger regional network well beyond the Games.

Metrolink was proud to connect with nearly 200 small business owners, contractors, and industry pros at the AGC of California Small Business Construction Expo in Long Beach. Our team, Donald Mayes and Saul Robles, shared how Metrolink is committed to inclusive, accessible procurement opportunities for small and diverse businesses across Southern California. Metrolink team members and their families spent the day volunteering at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, helping assemble and load 23 pallets of food kits for neighbors facing food insecurity in our community. We’re thankful for the chance to support and to stand with others working to fight hunger across Southern California.

For the 9th consecutive year, Metrolink has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for our Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. Congratulations to Tom Schamber, CPA on being appointed Metrolink’s next Chief Financial Officer. A seasoned leader with nearly three decades of strategic management experience in accounting, audit and financial operations, Tom has been a key leader at the agency since 2016. He stepped into the interim CFO role in April 2025 and now officially takes the helm. Here’s to Tom’s continued success as he leads Metrolink’s Finance team into the future.
