  • No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. But with millions of Americans preparing to lose SNAP benefits in November due to the government shutdown, that’s the reality for so many families right now. Our friends at Sharing Excess are preparing for a massive surge in need. Their teams are on the ground nationwide, moving thousands of pounds of fresh, rescued food every day to families who will be hit hardest. They're urgently scaling up, but the need is growing faster than their resources can keep up with. That's why we're sponsoring six truckloads of food, which will help provide a month's worth of meals for over 480 families—more than 200,000 pounds of food in total. Our contribution will directly put food on tables for families in crisis, and yours can too. If you or your company are able to donate or help sponsor a truck, now is the time. The need is urgent and real, and we can all come together to help those who need it most. • Last week, members of the Misfits Market team had the incredible opportunity to visit Hodo’s tofu factory in Oakland, CA. The Hodo team generously welcomed us behind the scenes for a firsthand look at their entire tofu-making process—from fresh soybeans to soy milk to the precise hot- and cold-setting methods that give each variety its signature texture. The visit ended with a delicious tasting featuring everything from crumbled and lightly fried tofu to a crowd favorite: chili crisp tofu. We’re so grateful to our partners at Hodo for sharing their craft, their hospitality, and a deeper appreciation for the art of tofu. It was a truly special experience—and a rare chance for our Bay Area teammates to connect in person. 💛

  • We are SO excited to share that our award-winning private label brand, Odds & Ends, just earned three 2025 Editors’ Picks from Store Brands—another proud milestone for a label that’s only three years old. Huge thanks to Store Brands for the recognition! 🍪 Odds & Ends Pistachio Biscotti Pieces: These rescued biscotti pieces give a second life to the broken ends that don’t meet cosmetic specs. 🍏 Odds & Ends Green Apple Avocado Cold-Pressed Juice: This smooth, upcycled blend features spinach from one of our own grower partners. 🧀 Odds & Ends Three Cheese Ravioli with Basil: This customer favorite turns surplus cheese into crave-worthy fresh pasta. We’re in great company on this list, and proud to see innovation and sustainability in private label getting the spotlight. Shoutout to Morgan Drummond and Madeline Lubowitz (Tate) for leading the charge in building a private label brand that’s reshaping what sustainability can look (and taste) like.

  • #MisfitsMarket is taking the mission that launched us, fighting food waste, and using it to power something bigger: a smarter, more sustainable grocery platform built on our own perishable fulfillment network. Our founder and CEO, Abhi Ramesh, spoke with PYMNTS about how we’re creating a new kind of online grocery store, and the infrastructure that powers it: “We’re not just building the customer‑facing grocery store, we’re also building the entire back-end supply chain, like perishable infrastructure, logistics and fulfillment from the ground up." From delivering $155M back to farmers and producers to commercializing our “Fulfilled by Misfits” logistics network, we’re expanding our mission to reimagine the entire food system. Thank you to PYMNTS and Karen Webster for the thoughtful conversation! Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/e_XMQpbX

  • Ever wondered what it takes to get on the (digital) shelves of Misfits Market? Jessie Kimsey, our amazing Senior Manager of Vendor Strategy and Category Innovation, breaks down exactly how mission-driven brands make the cut on the It's All Happening Agency podcast! Hint: it has nothing to do with the “pay to play” system lots of emerging brands are forced into at traditional grocery stores. Jessie shares how we’re transforming the grocery game and opening doors for products that deserve to be discovered. We’re so lucky to work alongside such talented and passionate leaders. • Our annual summer festival, led by our incredible Human Resources team, continues to be one of the most meaningful ways we connect as a company. It’s week-long slate of events dedicated to team building, collaboration, and reflection on how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next. This year's theme was Turn Up The Beet (see what we did there?) and it brought together teams virtually and in person for everything from project deep dives and department spotlights to "Couchella" happy hour and food truck visits. Among the many highlights was a songwriting workshop with singer/songwriter KAYKO of American Idol fame where we penned this amazing original song, "Flavors Of The Summer." We were absolutely blown away by the result—take a listen to hear why!

  • We just launched something new at #MisfitsMarket—and it doesn't belong in your fridge. Our brand-new Household aisle is officially live, featuring ~30 everyday essentials that meet the same high standards we hold for our groceries. From biodegradable trash bags to safer laundry care and compostable kitchen basics, these are products made with clean ingredients and more environmentally-friendly materials that actually get the job done. We took our time bringing household products to Misfits Market because we wanted to do it right. That meant digging into ingredient lists, testing for real-world results, and choosing products that work just as well (or better) than the conventional stuff. Mission-driven brands like Molly's Suds, If You Care, Repurpose, Caboo Products, and Root and Splendor made the cut because they care as much about performance and transparency as they do about sustainability. Huge thanks to our Merchandising team for their thoughtful work sourcing products we believe in, and that we know our customers will care about, too.
