  • ⛸️✨ Not many folks in Mississippi keep ice skates in the closet, and that is exactly why this partnership means so much. ✨⛸️ Thanks to our friends at Atmos Energy, skate rentals at The Southern Lights are now completely FREE. You will still grab your admission and ice skating pass, but when it is time to lace up, the skates are waiting. No extra fee. No stress. Just a rink full of lights, laughter, and that first wobbly step that turns into a glide. “Community is at the heart of what we are building with The Southern Lights,” said David Kerr, Assistant General Manager of the Mississippi Mud Monsters. “Thanks to Atmos Energy, every guest has the chance to lace up and skate without worrying about an extra charge. It is a gift to our fans, to Mississippi, and to everyone who makes this holiday tradition part of their story.” “Atmos Energy has been part of Mississippi communities for generations, and this partnership is another way we can give back,” said Bobby Morgan, Vice President of Atmos Energy. “We are proud to help make family traditions a little brighter by covering the cost of skate rentals for every guest.” It is partnerships like this that remind us what makes Mississippi shine. Neighbors helping neighbors. A community that always finds a way to make the season a little more magical. 💙 Full story in the comments.

  • There’s something about Sundays that just feel like family. This holiday season, that feeling gets a little brighter. We’re teaming up with our friends at Brown Bottling Group to bring Pepsi Family Sundays to The Southern Lights. The package includes 4 tickets, 4 ice skating passes, and 4 Pepsi fountain drinks for just $65. It’s everything you want a Sunday night to be. Lights stretching in every direction, the sound of skates on the ice, the smell of s’mores by the fire, and that quiet Mississippi joy that comes from being surrounded by the people who matter most. This partnership means a lot to us because it’s not new. Brown Bottling helped us launch the Mud Monsters’ inaugural season this spring, and now they’re helping families make memories during our first holiday season at Trustmark Park. That kind of continuity from baseball to Christmas lights is what community partnership looks like. As Shelley Brown Floyd, Executive Vice President of Brown Bottling Group, said best: “As a company rooted in Mississippi since 1971, giving back to the communities we serve is part of who we are. Partnering with the Mud Monsters on this event allows us to continue what we started during the team’s inaugural season, sharing joy, connection, and of course, an ice-cold Pepsi with families during the holidays.” When we built The Southern Lights, the goal was simple. To create a place where Central Mississippi could slow down, connect, and experience something special together. Brown Bottling shares that same heartbeat, one rooted in local pride, service, and joy. Millions of lights. Festive train rides. Ice skating, s’mores, and the sparkle of something new taking root in Pearl. Thank you to Shelley and everyone at Brown Bottling for believing in what we’re building and for helping make Mississippi magic possible all year long. 🐟 Full story link in the comments.

  • The swamp just got a little bigger. Today we released the full 2026 Mississippi Mud Monsters schedule, and it’s our most ambitious one yet. 51 home games. Two doubleheaders, including the Fourth of July. And for the first time in franchise history, an international road trip. Next August, we’ll head north for a six-game series against the Ottawa Titans Baseball Club, marking the first time a Mississippi team has ever played professional baseball in Canada. It’s a milestone moment for our young franchise and another reminder that this team, this community, and this story are still growing. Opening Day is Thursday, May 7, 2026, when Trustmark Park comes alive again with teal, lights, and the fans who make it all matter. • 🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM City of Ottawa / Ville d’Ottawa 🚨 The Frontier League held its annual meetings this week… but judging by the photos, the Mississippi Mud Monsters may have accidentally gone full kaiju. Since we didn’t snap any pictures of our own, we borrowed a few from other teams’ public posts (and maybe a “news outlet” or two). The results? Terrifying. Andrew Seymour casually peeking through windows like a friendly-but-giant office Godzilla. David Kerr blocking out the sun over the Welcome/Bienvenue sign. A downtown sighting near Parliament Hill that shook the very foundations of Canada. Multiple LinkedIn reports confirming: the Monsters are on the loose. Truth is, the only things we actually destroyed were the buffet line (unlimited poutine) and a couple of nametags. But the meetings themselves were monster-sized in the best way - full of collaboration, insight, and real tools to help us keep building in Mississippi. Huge thanks to Steve Tahsler, Matt Shepardson, and Sarah George for pulling this all together. And to our brave hosts, the Ottawa Titans Baseball Club: thanks for welcoming us into your city and not calling animal control when the Mud Monsters came stomping through. 🐟 Mississippi Mud Monsters: Bigger in Canada.

  • Howdy everyone, It’s us, the humans behind the Mud Monsters social media accounts. Before anyone panics: no, we’re not folding the team, we’re not trading Fish, and we’re not changing our colors to match the Schaumburg Boomers. We’re just taking a little break. This past year has been one giant blur of teal, hot sauce, giveaways, tarp pulls, and more rain questions than any human should have to answer. (Seriously, if we could control the weather, we’d use the power to rule the world.) You’ve packed the ballpark, made up your own Mud Monsters traditions, and reminded us every single night that this is bigger than baseball. The Mud Monsters aren’t just a team. We’re a whole damn vibe. And so are you. Starting today, we’re stepping back for one week. A couple scheduled posts will still roll out, but the sass, the snark, and the daily nonsense are on pause. David is shipping off to Canada for Frontier League meetings, Macy is holding down the swamp, and honestly, admitting we need a break is a weight off our chest. And what’s next is MonstBEERfest and The Southern Lights. Thanks for riding with us through year one. We’ll be back soon with more fun, more bite, and yes, another stack of rain questions waiting in our DMs. See you in a week, Macy Worstell & David Kerr 🐟 Mud Monsters Social Admins

  • Help us congratulate our Assistant GM, David Kerr, on being named Kiwanian of the Year by the Pearl Kiwanis Club! We’re grateful for all the ways David pours into this community, and we’re proud to see him recognized by a group that makes such a difference here in Pearl.

    View profile for David Kerr

Builder of belonging, baseball dreamer, relentless, loyal to a fault, creative, tender, deeply real.

Yesterday I was named Kiwanian of the Year by the Pearl Kiwanis Club. When I first joined it was just a smart business move. A way to meet leaders and get connected. But it didn’t take long for it to become so much more. This club has been with me through every step of my Mississippi story. They opened doors for me at the very beginning of my career with the M-Braves. And during the “lost year” when I didn’t even know if I had a job, they showed up again. Some offered me opportunities. Others stood in for me. All of them reminded me I had value here. But it’s the little things that made it feel like family. Kathy bringing cake, especially king cake. Leon saying “we’re leaving at 1pm.” Donna sharing her onion rings. Me trying to hide in the back of every picture. Caitlin and I catching up and gossiping like no time had passed. A million more things I should tag others in. Those moments matter just as much as the scholarships, the school adoptions, and the service projects. Now Tuesday lunches at Moss Creek Fish House are a highlight of my week. Especially since Jessica has our orders down! It’s laughter, stories, and friends who care about making Pearl stronger. It’s the reason this city stopped feeling like just the place I worked and started feeling like home for me and Holly. Being named Kiwanian of the Year is humbling. But the real honor is just having a seat at that table. It's an even better honor because Michael Brewer and I were both recognized after splitting the vote. Saying my name in the same breath as someone who works so hard for the kids in our city is unbelievable to me. I invite any of you to come experience this. It's worth the time and investment. And the food is good.

  • "Looking back now...to have a winning record and to have a good start to the Mississippi Mud Monsters was very important." Our skipper has a story worth hearing. 🎙️⚾ Mud Monsters Manager Jay Pecci joined the Legends on Deck podcast to share his journey — from Stanford to the Oakland A’s, from playing overseas to leading in Pearl. It’s baseball, family, and generations of grit all in one conversation. Give it a listen and get to know the leader of your Mud Monsters: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gqWwhTFc

  • So, you’re thinking about joining the swamp? Good. Because working with the Mississippi Mud Monsters isn’t your typical “clock in, clock out” job. It’s baseball, only a little weirder. A little louder. A little more fun. And a whole lot more personal. We’re a team built from the ground up right here in Pearl. Every person who works here has a chance to help shape something brand new. From front office staff to game day crew, we’re not just filling roles. We’re creating experiences. We’re storytellers, hosts, problem solvers, and memory makers. Some days that means planning a promotion that has the whole crowd laughing. Other days it means helping a family create a moment they will never forget. Either way, you’re part of the story. Our culture is simple: We believe work should be unapologetically fun. We lean into the weird, because that is what makes us memorable. We welcome everyone, because baseball is for everybody. We stay rooted in Mississippi, because this is home. We have multiple positions open right now, including full-time roles. Do not wait until next year or next baseball season. If you want to be part of the team, this is the moment. This is more than a job. This is swamp built, Mississippi made magic. Check out the current openings and apply here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gZYthYi3 The Monsters are waiting.

  • MUD MONSTERS FANS, Thank you for making our inaugural season unforgettable. From day one, you helped us create experiences that brought Central Mississippi together and reminded us why baseball matters here. You weren’t just in the stands, you were part of the story. Some of our biggest nights showed just how special this first season was. Opening Night on May 8 set the tone with fireworks and a full house. July 4 was a celebration of independence and community. Our Back to School Backpack Giveaway, Tank Top Giveaway Night, Pink in the Park, and JSU Night all brought thousands together. Add in nights full of mystery meat on a stick and the chants of “beer, beer, beer,” and it’s clear we built something fun and unforgettable. Our reach went well beyond the ballpark. From charity check presentations and jersey auctions to school visits and community events, we wanted to make an impact off the field as well. Having Assistant General Manager David Kerr serve as Grand Marshal of the 2024 Pearl Christmas Parade was a true highlight, a chance to celebrate side by side with the city that welcomed us. On the field, our team delivered a winning record in its very first season. We were competitive every night, and two of our players signed with Major League Baseball organizations. That success gives us momentum as we head into 2026. With baseball closing in 2025, we now look ahead. Oktoberfest and MonstoBEERfest will keep the ballpark buzzing this fall, and The Southern Lights will bring families together for the holidays. We said we would be more than baseball, and we meant it. Stick with us, and help us build an even bigger Monster BASH. Let’s go Monsters! 🐟 Joseph Eng Owner, Mississippi Mud Monsters
