We are pleased to announce our 2026 Summer Music Festival & School, running June 14–August 8, during which we will debut a new structure poised to expand our impact. The Festival will open with a new two-week High School Intensive (June 14–25) for accomplished musicians ages 14–18, followed by the celebrated six-week Fellowship Institute (June 27–August 8) for pre-professional musicians ages 18–34. Together, the High School Intensive and Fellowship Institute create a dynamic eight-week Festival filled with concerts, recitals, special events, and educational offerings. We’re thrilled to share that the Music Academy of the West has acquired 901 State Street with plans to transform it into a dynamic new hub for music education and community engagement. ⁠ This visionary project is made possible by a landmark $20 million gift from Cheryl Goldberg in honor of her late husband, Michael Goldberg. Their generosity reflects a deep belief in music’s power to unite communities, elevate spirits, and enrich lives across generations.⁠ ⁠ As the Academy approaches its 80th anniversary, this downtown expansion marks a pivotal moment in our evolution and in the cultural life of Santa Barbara.⁠ ⁠ The new Music Education Center will expand access to music education, celebrate artistic innovation, and create a year-round space for concerts and community gatherings. Music Academy of the West seeks a Chief Advancement Officer to drive philanthropic efforts and ensure fiscal sustainability in partnership with the President & CEO and leadership team. The Chief Advancement Officer will manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects, fostering relationships through cultivation and stewardship strategies while focusing on expansion of the Music Academy's community of philanthropic leaders. The Chief Advancement Officer will play a vital role in enhancing donor engagement and ensuring the continued success of the Music Academy.
