Every renewable project starts from the ground up—literally. Too often, grounding grid design is treated as a compliance exercise. But following the standard alone doesn’t always deliver a safe or cost-effective result. Our recent blog explores how NEI engineers go beyond minimum requirements to optimize grounding grids for performance, safety, and constructability—achieving measurable gains in both reliability and cost. See how a smarter grounding approach keeps projects on solid footing: https://lnkd.in/gpsYXkTT #RenewableEnergy #EngineeringExcellence #GridReliability #Grounding #SolarEngineering

Engineering a Legacy of Expertise
About us
NEI provides professional expertise and design engineering services for all aspects of power systems engineering. NEI has assembled an excellent group of engineers, technical specialists, designers, CAD operators, and support personnel, with many years of experience across various aspects of electric power system engineering. Our team of experts are integrated across multiple engineering scopes, including electrical, civil, and structural; through all phases of a project lifecycle, from concept through implementation. We have a wide range of talent with a flexible, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to innovate and adapt to meet client standards. While we take pride in our expertise, we also value being open minded and adaptive; people are as important as the problems they solve. As experts in renewables, NEI has an excellent reputation for designing reliable power systems from conceptual stages to detailed design, including photovoltaic (PV) design, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and wind collection, as well as construction management and commissioning. Additionally, NEI specializes in substation design through 500kV, transmission & distribution line design, protective relaying schemes and setting design, and system commissioning.

On September 19, the House passed the GRID Power Act (H.R. 1047). If it becomes law, FERC would direct transmission providers to move dispatchable projects—like gas and BESS—up in the interconnection queue to strengthen grid reliability. For developers, this could shift how projects are evaluated and which ones ultimately make it through the process, similar to what MISO has tested with ERAS. NEI works with clients every day on these challenges. From site design to PSSE and PSCAD models, we help teams put forward stronger interconnection applications and adapt to changing requirements. https://lnkd.in/gz24vpSM
