Our four-legged companions are more than just working animals — they're family! Today, our canines and horses gathered for our annual blessing of the animals with Assistant Chief Chaplain Msgr. Romano to honor their vital role in public safety.

September 11, 2001, marked one of our nation’s darkest days. Few responded as bravely as New York City’s first responders. That day, the New York City Fire Department lost 343, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey lost 37, and the NYPD lost 23, and many others continue to suffer from illnesses related to 9/11. We will #NeverForget.

The cohesion and attention to detail at these major events is essential to operational security and the overall success of the protective mission.

The Finest didn't take the win this year, but the Battle of the Badges is always bigger than the scoreboard. Congratulations to New York City Fire Department on the victory. We are always one team New York can count on.
