Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do at Newfields. Huge thank you to IDEM for awarding us with the Community Recycling Grant to help our staff and guests increase recycling rates, reduce contamination, and learn a little along the way. Bravo to Lisa Milton, Erin Hornbach, and Elise Middleton and many others for making this happen 🗑️ ♻️ 🌎 !
In December 2023, #IDEM awarded Newfields a Community Recycling Grant to enhance recycling efforts across its campus. The grant funds additional recycling and trash receptacles and educational signage in areas like the Café, Museum, and the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. Erin Hornbach, Newfields Project Manager, discusses the need for better recycling access along with consistent, clear signage. "What we take seriously is waste and recycling and the environment," says Erin. With these upgrades, they expect to increase recycling rates, reduce contamination, and empower guests with knowledge they can take beyond Newfields. 🌎 Learn more about the Community Recycling Grant Program (CRGP): https://bit.ly/3MxBqV4 #Newfields #Sustainability #Recycling

We hosted our first Neighborhood Member Picnic this weekend in the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park! Wow, did we get lucky with the weather! Members could grab a sandwich, enjoy lawn games and art-making, and dance to some tunes provided by DJ Lady Locs. This was a great way to celebrate our Neighborhood Members and continue to build relationships in the Midtown community. Thanks to all who attended!
