💫 Yesterday we said goodbye to an incredible leader, mentor and colleague. Cate P., our VP of Operations, is moving on to her next chapter, and while we are excited for what's ahead for her, we are deeply sad to see her go. We have hands-on experience in providing a wide range of services to civilian and DoD programs throughout the world. Nisga’a CIOPS personnel are providing services on five continents. May is National Military Appreciation Month Goldbelt proudly honors the contributions and sacrifices of those who have served—or are currently serving—in the U.S. Armed Forces. As an Alaska Native Corporation, we deeply value service, dedication, and leadership, and we are grateful to the veterans and military families who reflect these values every day. We are proud to employ more than 540 military veterans and actively recruit military spouses. Many of our team members continue their commitment to service through our government contracting work, which supports critical missions across the country and around the world. Throughout May, we will highlight stories of veterans and service members within the Goldbelt community. One of those individuals is Brian Wubker, Executive Vice President of the Tidewater Division. In March 2024, Goldbelt committed to supporting military spouse professionals by joining the Military Spouse Employment Partnership--MSEP. Today, Goldbelt Associate Vice President of Human Resources Lauren Bocek MBA PHR SHRMCP and Vice President, Capitol Area Group Craig Douglas are proudly attending the induction ceremony in Virginia, joining the Defense Department and more than 200 new and continuing partners at MSEP ENGAGE 2025. Military spouses face unique challenges in maintaining consistent employment due to frequent relocations and other necessities of military life. They experience a 21% unemployment rate, and a 25% wage gap compared to their civilian counterparts. Goldbelt’s involvement in this partnership reflects its core values as an Alaska Native Corporation, honoring the longstanding pride Alaska Natives take in military service—historically serving at one of the highest rates per capita of any ethnic group in the United States.
