Ok - so imagine this. The 13 year old girl across the street has spent the last year creating a business from scratch. First she designed and produced a killer product - a super fun board game called Drizzle. Then, she pitched it all over the place landing in stores all across the Jersey Shore and beyond, selling unit after unit after unit. Now, she’s been nominated for the Oscars of the toy business - a TAGIE, as the Young Innovator of the Year and she needs everyone to vote her to victory. So, you can probably guess this isn’t imaginary - it’s real. The girl’s name is Persy, she really lives across the street from me and she deserves this award hands down. Here’s what you can do. Click the link here: https://lnkd.in/eM5Gf98m Go to question 13, and make sure to vote for Persy and Drizzle. Then get all your friends and family to do the same. Erich Arcement Michele Litzky Josslynne Welch Peter Innes Christopher Byrne

OBERLAND ended NY Advertising Week how we started it, on a stage! 🎤🎭 Hosting our second “Hysterical” Comedy night for women (+ everyone) in the industry! As a woman in the ad/marketing world, it's my favorite event I get to work on. It’s a play on the untrue idea of women being too emotional. Let’s get serious, women lead with efficiency - they get sh*t done + don’t lose their shit. 💪 Thank you to powerhouse Producer + Comedian Gina Jarrin Keir, and the amazing female comics of the Ping Pong Room Live troupe! We had a great time laughing, networking, singing to a mini-musical + Jessica Millington's ventriloquist act! For U.N. Day of the Girl + Period Action Wk, donations went to PERIOD. to end the #1 barrier to progress for women + girls globally, access to period products.

If you are in the business of brand stewardship in any capacity, I need you to gather round. Now don’t worry, you aren’t in trouble…but we do need to have a serious talk. For many of you, the societal tumult of late has made you feel a persistent ache that might be unfamiliar. You are scared. Now what if I told you that many of your peers, your colleagues, your closest friends, perhaps even your spouse or children, have never really experienced feeling anything BUT scared? What if I told you that the high performing Black man on your team can look like he’s having a great time, like he feels truly seen, all the while the a vibrational hummmmm pulses through his body, a never ending psychological reminder of the double consciousness it is his cross to bear. What if I told you that all star Black woman going from stage to stage to stage dropping gems at Cannes is doing it all scared too, the sound of her hummm weighing her down so much, she couldn’t possibly make it to that after party if she tried. I get it, you are scared. It’ll be hard to get sign off for taking the team to Blackweek given “everything going on”. Or is that just the story you tell yourself because you have just had it with all of the fear? What if you thought about it a different way: “It’ll be hard to claim we’re invested in supporting the communities we sell to who have always been scared if we can’t even be brave enough to invest in decentering ourselves so that ego death can make space for cultural literacy? Isn’t now the time to learn from those who have never felt safe - in an environment so otherworldly, so utterly transcendent, that for the first time at an industry event - so many of us teared up as we noticed that at Blackweek, we finally felt safe too? It won’t work without each of you. E.L.F. BEAUTY bought 50 tickets OBERLAND purchased 10 This list needs to grow. #CMOS #Brandleaders #TechExecs the homie Craig Brommers - even my Brand Innovators pals. We need to see you. Walter T Geer III Joseph Anthony Adan Romero, Gabrielle Shirdan, Dabo Ché, and Monique Nelson created something magical. Your teams can attend and speak at Advertising Week too! I know I am! But invest. Spread the safety. Learn something more. For corporate packages simply raise your hand in the comments or DM and I’ll send you to the right person on the team. Thank you for believing safety belongs to all of us… When you invest in knowledge beyond the familiar, you invest in the deepest form of consumer intimacy… Valuing their dignity and cherishing their humanity. So? Am I hearing a yes? 🙏🏾 View the agenda and purchase tickets here: www.blackweek.co Ps - if this post got you to yes, please share why in the comments!

The Change the Board Game coalition is officially launching. We’re in - and you should be too! OBERLAND is a founding member of the coalition because we believe that companies whose boards represent their communities do better for their stakeholders and investors. To that end, Change the Board Game has brought together more than  70 individual leaders and 20 organizations committed to creating accessible boardrooms and working as a collective to advance representation of qualified Board members and candidates by developing the next generation of board talent, finding open seats for candidates who are board ready now, and by continuing to advocate for the best in inclusive sourcing practices.  So today we’re calling on all our partners and friends, join us, E.L.F. BEAUTY and many others in the Change the Board Game coalition! Sign up at the link: ChangetheBoardGame.com E.L.F. Inclusive boards shouldn't be the exception. They should be the example.    We’re proud that our Board of Directors is 67% women and 44% diverse and that it reflects the community we serve. We are one of only five publicly traded companies that can say this, which shows there’s work to be done.   We want to Change the Board Game. 🚀    Over the past two years, we’ve sponsored 40 rising leaders on their board readiness journeys through the NACD Accelerate program. We served the facts with Billie Jean King to highlight the inequity of public companies' Boards of Directors. We launched “So Many Dicks,” a bold campaign based on the insight that there were more Richard, Ricks and Dicks on publicly traded companies than entire groups of underrepresented people. We published the first-of-its-kind Not-So-White Paper, teaming up with NC A&T, and sharing research that draws the correlation between inclusive boards and company performance.   We are proud to announce the official launch of the Change the Board Game coalition--backed by over 20 organizations and 70+ individual leaders. New Research conducted by N.C. A&T found additional correlations between gender diversity on U.S. publicly traded Boards of Directors and stronger Return on Equity (RoE). N.C. A&T found that every year between 2018 and 2024, U.S.-headquartered companies publicly listed on the NYSE or NASDAQ with above-average gender diversity on their boards achieved higher average RoE than those with below-average gender diversity, with the average annual outperformance being approximately 256%. We continue to believe that inclusive boards make cent$.    We're honored to stand with coalition partners like Pink Chip, 50/50 Women on Boards, LCDA, BCBR and Gaingels who are committed to building more accessible and equitable boardrooms. ✨   There is no one person or company who can make this change alone. Join us in growing the coalition to Change the Board Game. Sign up and learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eGVwzFC3

What happens when a pro athlete is passionate about access? ⚽️✨ Jess Carter, professional soccer player for NJ/NY Gotham FC and the England Lionesses, is inspiring the next generation of athletes to see no limits. 🏆 In our latest installment of the Show Yourse.l.f. series for E.L.F. BEAUTY, Jess talks overcoming adversity + shares how a pivotal moment in her life, when her coach decided to start an all-girls team, changed everything. The episode spotlights Carter’s journey to the top of women’s soccer + the importance of visibility in women’s sports. Jess is a fierce advocate for equal athletic opportunities for girls — because she knows firsthand what it’s like to nearly lose that chance. 🔥 And she’s not alone. By age 14, girls drop out of sports at twice the rate of boys, largely due to lack of access. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed making it! Jess Carter’s story is a reminder of why access matters. In our latest Show Yourse.l.f. episode, the defender for NJ/NY Gotham FC and the England Lionesses opens up about overcoming adversity while inspiring the next generation of athletes to see no limits to what they can achieve. 🚀 She also shared how a pivotal moment in her life, when her coach decided to start an all-girls team, changed everything. “I didn’t grow up watching a girls’ football [soccer] team, so I didn’t even know this could be a profession. I just loved the game. Without my coach, who started a girls’ team in my hometown, I may never have known that women’s football even existed. Now I get to be that role model I didn’t have, someone little girls can look at and say, ‘She looks like me, she comes from where I come from, and nothing can stop me from doing the same.’” Jess is passionate about one of e.l.f. Beauty’s core missions: democratizing access. She’s a fierce advocate for equal athletic opportunities for girls — because she knows firsthand what it’s like to nearly lose that chance. And she’s not alone. By age 14, girls drop out of sports at twice the rate of boys, largely due to lack of access. Now a role model who’s changing the game for others, Jess’s story is proof: when we invest in access, we unlock potential. And not just in sports, but in life. Because girls who play, grow into women who lead. ⭐ This episode is a celebration of joy, resilience and the love of the game — as something more than a path to victory, but a reason to stay grounded in who you are. 💗 Watch the full episode here and tune into the whole series on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eNczBkHw
