In addition to being Parnell Veterinary Pharmaceuticals Pet Care Business Unit Leader, Heidi Rooney is a “Puppy Raiser” with Can Do Canines Assistance Dogs. Raisers provide homes to assistance-dogs-in-training, teaching them basic obedience, foundational assistance dog skills, and exposing them to as many social situations as possible, so when Heidi had an on-site meeting at our Minnesota Headquarters last week she knew it would be the perfect opportunity to let foster pup Rummi wag and tag along! Heidi isn’t the only one who supports the Can Do Canines mission — the #PattersonFoundation has partnered with Can Do Canines since 2018, providing over $160,000 in donations throughout that time. Everyone who had the chance to meet Heidi and Rummi last week and hear their story, was very appreciative of our “canine caller!” 😊🐾

It’s the first Friday of a new month, which means our Patterson Pride team has gathered for their “First Fridays” meeting, an event designed to connect employees and spark purposeful conversation. Senior Director of Business Transformation and Pride group member Michael Goldman came up with the idea to start a podcast discussion rooted in LGBTQA topics. A chosen podcast is sent out to the group ahead of time, and then discussed on the first Friday of each month. “I saw a need for this community to have a place to share stories,” says Michael. “Every conversation is different depending on how many people attend that month, or what’s going on in the world. The conversations have been powerful.” Since launching approximately one year ago, the variety of podcasts has grown, as has the number of attendees. “The discussions are open to anyone and everyone. The majority of attendees are allies, which is fantastic. To keep something like this alive we need the support of allies.”

The tune reminds her that when we’re focused and working together, nothing can stop us. • When Vice President of Dental Sales Enablement and Success Karen Scott wants a jolt of positivity, she plays “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, sharing that it’s a great reminder that we all control our own happiness and destiny. • When Companion Animal Division President George Henriques wants to hit his stride, he opts for oldie but goodie “We Will Rock You” by Queen. • When Chief Financial Officer Kevin Barry wants to get charged up, he presses play on "Danza Kuduro" by Don Omar, a tune he connected with while living in Miami. Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, also known as Orange Shirt Day. The day honors Survivors of residential schools and children who never returned home, as well as their families and communities. Today, members of our Patterson Dental/Dentaire Canada team in Edmonton, Alberta are teaming up with members of our Kane Veterinary Supplies team, to assemble dental hygiene kits for the Indigenous Dental Association of Canada (IDAC). To further compound the positive outcome of this employee volunteering event, the #PattersonFoundation will be making a monetary donation of $1,000 to the IDAC. #OrangeShirtDay #WeArePatterson

Thank you to everyone who made "welcome back week" a success. Throughout this past week, Patterson team members enjoyed food trucks, trivia, a "technology bar," a connections fair, and the innovation and creativity that come from reconnecting.

Last week, our Montreal-based Fulfillment and National Repair Center teams had a summer sendoff celebration, in the form of a barbeque. 🍔 In what has become a treasured annual tradition, the management team donned their finest aprons and were honored to cook for their hardworking employees, to express appreciation for a job well done over the past few months. It was a beautiful afternoon, and everyone was able to enjoy sharing a meal outdoors on one of the last warm days of summer!

Isn't there something extra comforting about a fresh cup of coffee and a picture-perfect pastry on the first day of fall? 🍂☕ In addition to being the first day of a new season outside, we're beginning a new chapter in Patterson's workplace culture, as today marks the first day of our return-to-office initiative. As we enter into the season of thanks, we are grateful to re-engage with one another, strengthen relationships across teams, and reignite the innovation and creativity that thrive when we’re together. From September 14–20, we proudly join the nation in celebrating #TruckDriverAppreciationWeek. We have more than 100 dedicated commercial truck drivers who we depend on to keep our operations moving. In fact, in 2025 alone, these professionals will collectively travel nearly four million miles across the United States, delivering products and equipment to our customers with precision, care, and professionalism! Patterson regulatory and compliance specialist Steve Darby, believes our drivers are the foundation of our ability to serve customers on time and with excellence, and that "Their contributions are felt in every corner of our business." We echo these sentiments, and extend sincere gratitude to our commercial drivers for the miles they travel, the dedication they bring, and the essential role they play in keeping our customers supplied and our business moving forward. 🚚💨

This past month we said farewell to the latest group of Patterson interns, but you never know what the future holds … Over the years, many of our interns have transitioned into full-time Patterson employees, growing their careers and making an impact on our business! Today we’re pleased to highlight two of those success stories, Krista Fedor and Hailey Weber. Krista started as a social media intern in 2016, and says it was immediately a culture she wanted to be a part of. “Everyone was welcoming, supportive, and eager to help me grow. The combination of support, belonging, and inspiration made it clear that Patterson was where I wanted to build my career.” Nearly a decade later, Krista is a strategic campaign marketing manager on the dental side of our business, where she helps support our customers and our company’s mission. “I love knowing that the work I do helps dental professionals deliver great care to their patients,” she says. “Putting the customer first and providing solutions that make practices more successful gives my work purpose.” Hailey started as an intern in Patterson’s accounting department in 2020, and felt she was given the chance to make a difference on day one. “There were roles and responsibilities that people were relying on me for, and I was able to learn a lot.” Now that five years have passed, Hailey is a senior financial systems analyst, where she continues to be motivated by the opportunity for growth. “The fact that there is room for upward mobility, and that coworkers want to teach and help you, is something I love about my job and the Patterson community.” Thank you to Krista and Hailey for being such valuable parts of our organization, and for demonstrating the value of interning at Patterson! #BackToSchool #Internship #WeArePatterson
