Come holiday season, the high-kicking Rockettes steal the show at Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular—but instead of letting human performers do all the dazzling, the event continues to exploit live animals, including camels, sheep, and donkeys. Handlers haul them in cramped trucks, shove them into chaotic, unfamiliar settings, and expose them to loud crowds and blinding lights—all of which terrify and confuse these sensitive animals. All the confinement and stress these animals suffer through is for a live, little-known Nativity scene that lasts barely 10 minutes on stage. Learn why this event is no holiday cheer for animals—and how you can help make it a compassionate Christmas celebration. https://lnkd.in/eBz-bCXK #holidays #HolidaySeason # #exploitation #RadioCityMusicHall #LiveAnimals #animals #suffering #NotYourEntertainment #confinement #AnimalLiberation #compassion

Animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.
About us
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) entities have more than 10.4 million members and supporters globally, and PETA U.S. is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of rodents, birds, and other animals who are often considered “pests” as well as cruelty to domesticated animals. PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns. PETA Foundation was founded in 1993 as an organization that helps PETA run, and includes departments like IT, Development, and Interactive Media. PETA and the PETA Foundation are two separate organizations but work very closely together. Looking for a career in animal rights? Inside a secluded laboratory in rural Massachusetts, experimenters infected monkeys with deadly viruses, drilled implants into their heads, and strapped them into restraint chairs for hours on end. Our fellow primates died alone in their cages—forgotten, dehydrated, or too sick to survive the next procedure. For more than 50 years, Harvard Medical School’s New England Primate Research Center (NEPRC) subjected thousands of monkeys to painful experiments and systemic neglect—until PETA took action. In 2015, after years of pressure from PETA and concerned citizens, Harvard announced it would close the New England Primate Research Center. The school cited financial concerns and a shift in research strategy, but the truth was clear. The closure was not a strategic choice but a retreat in the face of growing outrage. In its 50 years of operation, NEPRC caged thousands of monkeys and subjected them to countless invasive experiments—yet most of the experiments were curiosity-driven, offering little to no benefit to human health while causing immense animal suffering. PETA’s advocacy, media outreach, legal complaints, and unwavering focus helped force one of the country’s most notorious primate labs to shut down. The closure of the New England Primate Research Center was a landmark victory—but thousands of monkeys are suffering in laboratories across the U.S. They’re electroshocked, poisoned, cut open, and left to waste away—all in the name of “research.” Experimenters at the seven remaining national primate research centers have tormented and killed hundreds of thousands of monkeys while siphoning billions of dollars from taxpayers for experiments that have consistently failed to deliver safe and effective vaccines or cures. Please join our call to shut down these pits of misery. https://lnkd.in/eCJgj2xs #massachusets #boston #primates #monkeys #NationalPrimateResearchCenter #NIHfunding #biomedicalresearch #Harvard #HarvardMedical #AnimalResearch #AnimalStudies #animalexperimentation #AnimalWelfare #AnimalRights #AnimalLiberation

Exciting news: American Airlines is flying high with a trial of Just Egg, right after it added oat milk creamer to its in-flight menu! After meeting with PETA and being encouraged by over 140,000 of our supporters, American Airlines added vegan creamer last fall. This year, we worked with Eat Just to send the airline’s team delicious samples of vegan egg to consider as part of their menus. They agreed that their customers should get to try it, too! As for the chicken- and cow-friendly new menu item—drumroll please … It’s a corn and vegan egg hash made with Just Egg, hash browns, vegan cheese, spinach, corn, and red pepper. YUM! So, keep your eyes peeled for this tasty vegan brunch item available on select morning flights in premium economy from LAX to JFK. And if your flight doesn’t have it yet, it doesn’t hurt to drop your air carrier a line to let them know you’d love to try it. https://lnkd.in/epViKKGh #AmericanAirlines #vegan #eggs #VeganEggs #JustEgg #VeganBrunch #VeganOptions #exciting #GoVegan #AnimalLiberation #flights #activist

Each year in the U.S. alone, experimenters kill more than 111 million animals, including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds. They’re killed for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven “research,” and for chemical, drug, and food testing. PETA is working tirelessly to end these cruel, wasteful experiments that do nothing to advance medicine or research. Thanks in part to celebrity campaigns like these, we’re pushing animal testing closer to extinction. https://lnkd.in/eeXzyp-d #AnimalResearch #AnimalStudies #animalexperimentation #AnimalDefenders #activists #advocate #LiveVegan #AnimalCruelty #AnimalWelfare #AnimalRights #AnimalLiberation #celebrities #CaseyAffleck #KateDelCastillo #SirPaulMcCartney #JamesCromwell #VeganActivist #VeganCelebs #BillMaher #iggypop #anjelicahuston #sofiasisniega #crueltyfree #DaveNavarro #EvannaLynch

Etsy, an online global marketplace, hypes itself as an artistic, fashionable, and socially positive platform. News flash: There’s nothing artistic, fashionable, or positive about letting users sell fur. You deserve an Etsy feed filled with cute crafts, not slaughtered animals. Urge the company to make a positive impact on animals by setting up a ban on fur! https://lnkd.in/eUUkAuXE #Etsy #marketplace #fur #cruelty #BanFur #FurIsDead #animals #compassion #care #TakeAction #CrueltyIsntCute #PositiveImpact #advocate #activist #AnimalLiberation

Looks like fur is out of vogue. In a major win for compassionate fashion, Condé Nast—the media powerhouse behind Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, allure, and GLAMOUR—has cemented a new fur policy confirming that its publications will no longer feature new animal fur in editorial content or advertising. “Across our titles, we do not feature new animal fur in editorial content or advertising,” it writes. Thanks much to PETA’s work and animal defenders across the globe, fur has long been out of fashion—but this latest statement marks a nail in the coffin for the cruel industry, showing once again that fur is dead. https://lnkd.in/ecAuqr2X #MajorWin #compassion #fashion #VeganFashion #FurIsDead #CruelIndustry #AnimalDefenders #WearVegan #activists #advocate #LiveVegan

Diwali is the Indian Festival of Lights celebrated by hundreds of millions of people this month. It’s a cross-cultural event, celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and others. It’s increasingly celebrated in America as well, with three states (PA, CT, CA) now recognizing Diwali as a state holiday. The festival takes place over five days and is marked by oil lamps, sparklers, gifts, and festive family meals. Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil and is the biggest holiday of the year in India. One of the most fun aspects of Diwali is all the food—especially the sweets! Diwali food is often vegan, so making it all vegan is just a matter of being mindful of a few key ingredients like yoghurt, butter, and ghee. With more than two million members and supporters, PETA India is one of the most active PETA entities. Since 2000, the dedicated team has been busy all over the country advocating for good over evil in the food, clothing, entertainment, and experimentation industries. PETA India’s work includes getting glue traps banned in Indian states, successfully pressing the government of India to ban the export of reptile skins and various fur items for fashion, and even introducing animatronic elephants to temples, helping real elephants live in nature. Elephants are highly social, intelligent animals who live in matrilineal groups. They care for one another, young and old, and show respect for their dead, touching the bones of the departed with their trunks in apparent mourning. They belong in nature, living their best lives, not chained. Happy Diwali to all, whether you have two legs or four! https://lnkd.in/e2T8wRXW #Diwali #festival #holiday #celebrate #recipes #vegan #PETAIndia #animals #compassion #VeganFood #FestivalOfLights #food #HappyDiwali

Depression Awareness Month (October) began in the 1990s to increase public recognition of one of the most common mental health disorders. Nearly four decades have passed, and we still have a lot to learn. Depression is complex. It includes major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, seasonal affective disorder, postpartum depression and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Each has different causes and treatments. Depression is also extremely common. Depressive disorders are the leading cause of disability worldwide. About 332 million people experience depression globally, with nearly 21 million U.S. adults affected. Despite its prevalence among humans, research on depression has predominantly relied on studying other animals. It’s a counterintuitive practice that diverts resources from human-relevant studies and hinders scientific understanding of this condition and potential treatments, all while subjecting animals to pointless cruelty. State-of-the-art, non-animal methods can better study human depression and aid in developing treatments, helping people get the support they need and deserve while sparing countless animals unnecessary tests. The National Institutes of Health recently announced a major paradigm shift toward prioritizing human-based research. By doing so, we will finally move closer to finding treatments for the millions who suffer. https://lnkd.in/eQ_6DzSF #Depression #DepressionAwareness #DepressionAwarenessMonth #MentalHealth #Treatment #Research #Science #Animals #AnimalStudies #AnimalResearch #AnimalCruelty #AnimalWelfare #AnimalRights #AnimalLiberation
