Our SF pilot facility is officially live! We’re producing 0.5 tons/day of supplementary cementitious material (SCM) and fertilizers - proving coal ash landfills can be transformed into a trillion-dollar resource. This milestone is just the beginning. PHNX Materials has been awarded $2M from the Ohio Department of Development to launch a pilot facility in Ohio. This facility represents a major milestone: - Processing up to 600 tons of coal ash per year - Producing low-cost cement alternatives and fertilizers - Creating new jobs in coal communities - Unleashing American energy and strengthening manufacturing dominance Coal ash is one of the nation’s largest industrial waste streams. At PHNX, we’re proving it doesn’t have to be waste - it can be the foundation of the next era of clean construction and sustainable industry. PHNX Materials is honored to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award from Army Lt. Gen. Mark Simerly at the Defense Logistics Agency Industry Collider Day, in front of almost 1,000 participants. This recognition underscores the importance of our mission: extracting critical metals from coal ash to strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce reliance on imports, and support national security. PHNX has exciting news brewing 🫖

We are honored to welcome John Ward to the PHNX Advisory Board. John brings decades of leadership at the intersection of coal, energy, and construction materials. He previously served as President of the American Coal Council and is currently the Chairman of the American Coal Ash Association’s Government Relations Committee. He previously served on the National Coal Council, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Energy. Mr. Ward is a recognized expert on the manufacturing and use of fly ash in construction. His perspective will be invaluable as PHNX scales its technology to transform America’s coal ash legacy into the critical materials for tomorrow. We are excited to partner with John and grateful for his guidance as we accelerate this mission.

PHNX is thrilled to welcome Robert Doerr to lead our Plant Development efforts. Robert has over 24 years’ experience managing and leading complex multimillion dollar (up to $98MM) projects in North America and Europe.  He has managed projects for bottom ash grinding and fly ash beneficiation for a leading producer and supplier of sustainable cement alternatives. He holds an MBA from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a BS Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech). Outside of work he is passionate about travel, cooking, and net amateur four-ball golf tournaments.
