This season, we joined forces with Giant Eagle, Inc. for the third consecutive year to fundraise through the Giant Eagle Loyalty Card Discount Program, one of our longstanding fan value ticket discount offers. A portion of each ticket sold in 2025 went to 412 Food Rescue, a volunteer-driven local nonprofit that prevents surplus food waste. The program raised an impressive total of $11,272! To celebrate the donation, Neil Walker and the Pirate Parrot joined Giant Eagle this morning at 412 Food Rescue’s Good Food Project location in Millvale to present the donation!

On Friday, October 3, the Pirates front office traded their laptops for gloves and bats at our annual End-of-Season Softball Tournament! 🥎 This event is more than just a game – it’s a tribute to the late Shawn Gaertner, a beloved former sales representative and standout athlete from North Hills. Shawn's legacy lives on as we honor his incredible contributions, including his pivotal role in transitioning hundreds of Season Ticket Holders and groups from Three Rivers Stadium to PNC Park. The tournament brought together over 100 Pirates front office staff and the Gaertner family for a day filled with friendly competition and team bonding. Team Gray, led by Kyle Cartin clinched victory in the thrilling 8-team, double-elimination showdown! Anthony Argenziano received tournament MVP in honor of Shawn Gaertner. Thanks to everyone who made this event a success - especially Christina Nellis for her efforts in planning and organizing every detail of the day!
