Plain Language Association International (PLAIN) brings together plain language supporters and practitioners from around the world. We’re a nonprofit organization run entirely on a volunteer basis. Our growing network includes members from over 20 countries working in clear communication in more than 10 languages. *Our mission* PLAIN is the international association for plain language professionals that promotes clear communication in any language. *Our objectives* 1. Increase public awareness of plain language as a means of making communications from government, business, industry, the professions (including the medical, legal, information management, education and communications professions), and community organizations accessible internally and to a broad, public audience. 2. Help people understand and use plain language principles. 3. Promote the use of plain language within Canada and internationally. (PLAIN is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Canada.) 4. Promote research and development in plain language. 5. Promote the interests of plain language specialists. 6. Develop standards and practices for the plain language field. 7. Provide services for members, including marketing, networking, conferences, and communications. 8. Sponsor an international email forum through which members and others can exchange ideas about plain language. 9. Collaborate with organizations that have complementary objectives. 10. אתמול (13 באוקטובר) העולם מציין את Plain Language Day. יום שמזכיר לכולנו ששפה פשוטה היא לא מותרות. שפה פשוטה היא כלי הכרחי לניהול נכון, שקוף ומכבד. בכל העולם יש הכרה בכך: - כבר ב־1977 חוקקה מדינת ניו יורק חוק המחייב חוזים צרכניים בשפה פשוטה. - בניו זילנד, קנדה ואוסטרליה קיימים תקנים והנחיות מחייבות. - באמצע שנות ה־90 הוקם הארגון הבינלאומי Plain Language Association International (PLAIN), שמוביל מאז ועד היום מהפכה אמיתית בכתיבה פשוטה ונגישה. אני גאה להיות השגרירה של PLAIN בישראל! להיות חלק מקהילה עולמית שמקדמת שינוי חברתי עמוק דרך המילים. העבודה שהארגון הזה עושה - לייצר שפה שמובנת לכל אדם, בלי קשר ליכולת קריאה או רקע - היא פשוט שליחות. גם בישראל נעשו (ועדיין נעשים) צעדים חשובים: - משרד המשפטים פרסם מדריך לניסוח חקיקה פשוטה (2008). - הממונה על שוק ההון חייב גופים פיננסיים לשלוח דוחות פנסיה בשפה פשוטה (2013). - הפישוט הלשוני מופיע בתקנות נגישות השירות וגם במערכת הבריאות מבינים ששירות טוב מתחיל בשפה פשוטה. שפה פשוטה מייעלת תהליכים, חוסכת טעויות ובלבול, בונה אמון עם הציבור ובעיקר מאפשרת נגישות אמיתית לכל אדם. ביום השפה הפשוטה העולמי אני מזמינה גם אתכם - ארגונים, חברות, רשויות - להפוך את השפה הפשוטה לחלק בלתי נפרד מהעשייה שלכם. כי שפה פשוטה = שקיפות, אמון, שוויון.
