  • New Mexico is at an energy crossroads. Clean energy jobs are growing, but realizing the opportunity requires workforce development so local talent fills local roles. Here's what it takes for a just transition: training, apprenticeships, and job placement, now. To the employers, educators, and policymakers: support programs that upskill fossil fuel workers into clean energy careers. Grateful to our fellow Zach Goldberg for his contribution to the workforce development fellowship and the infographic that frames this discussion.

Climate Week NYC is less than a week away, and I honestly can’t wait. The Climate Pledge Hub is going to bring together some of the sharpest minds in science, business, activism, and storytelling. We know collaboration is the only way forward, and this week offers opportunity and urgency in equal measure. Here are a few sessions I’m especially excited about: Adam Met (Planet Reimagined / AJR): Adam is going to explore how art and music can move people—how storytelling and creative expression amplify climate activism. His work shows us new ways to build movements that are both inspiring and effective. Sophia Kianni (Climate Cardinals and Phia): Sophia is bridging climate information across languages, geographies, and generations so that no one is left out of the conversation. When youth are empowered with knowledge, change happens faster. Tulio Andrade (Head of Strategy at COP30 Brazil), Alexandra Guaqueta (Global Lead at ERM), and Naomi Morenzoni (SVP at Salesforce): Each of these leaders bring unique perspectives that cut across sectors — from sustainable innovation, equitable transitions, to regional climate resilience. I’m looking forward to what they’ll teach us, challenge us with, and enable us to do. Here’s to a week of bold ideas, bridging divides, and emerging with a tangible roadmap for change. If you’ll be there—let’s connect! The work ahead is urgent, but also full of hope. #theclimatepledge #climateweeknyc #cwnyc

  • Brazil is rapidly expanding solar and wind power to meet its clean energy goals. But poor land management has made renewables the second leading cause of deforestation in the Caatinga biome as of 2022. This highlights a critical challenge: how can we accelerate the energy transition without sacrificing ecosystems and communities? The answer lies in smarter siting. Our New Futures Fellow Dani Laforce created this powerful infographic and highlighted the path forward for renewable energy development in Brazil. #EnergyJustice #CommonGrounds #CleanEnergy #Sustainability

  • In Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, biodiversity conservation goes beyond national parks. Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs) recognize the vital role of local communities, from farmers and fishers to those safeguarding sacred forests and bird sanctuaries, in protecting ecosystems outside official parks. Our New Futures Fellow, Tran Kim Bao, has designed an insightful infographic showing how these grassroots efforts complement national strategies, creating a fuller, more inclusive picture of conservation. By highlighting OECMs, Bao’s work underscores that community-led stewardship is just as crucial as institutional action in achieving Vietnam’s biodiversity goals. We are deeply grateful for Bao’s contribution to the fellowship and his vision of a conservation model that honors both people and place. 🌏✨ #Biodiversity #Conservation #Vietnam #OECM #DeltaConnective

  • Our Executive Director Adam Met shared the real magic of live concerts - the impact beyond entertainment. Let us know if you were at the event!

Building an arts ignited and inspired community.

What if concerts were more than entertainment? What if they sparked civic engagement and real social impact? That’s the question I’m sitting with at the VenuesNow Conference 2025. For Mesa Arts Center, our work is about more than stages and seats — it’s about creating spaces where art builds belonging, conversation, and community impact. Hearing Adam Met talk about civic engagement at concerts hit home. How can we be more intentional, weaving dialogue into performance and using collective advocacy and shared research to show the ripple effect of the arts in civic life. My biggest takeaway? We can do more, but only if we do it together. Check out Planet Reimagined whose doing just that. #VenuesNow #LiveEvents #CivicEngagement #MesaArtsCenter
