📌 New blog alert! At last month’s Mexico Tech Week, Quona, Accion Ventures, and Flourish Ventures co-hosted our LatAm Fintech Forum & Investor Day, a two-part event exploring how regulation, capital, and innovation are shaping the next phase of fintech and financial inclusion in Latin America. We heard from Eduardo Flores Herrera (White & Case LLP & Case), Diego Szteinhendler (Mastercard), Tomas Wintour (J.P. Morgan), Kevin Lehtiniitty (Borderless), Nicholas Yepes (Moffin), Marvin A. Palavicini Arce (CXC) , and Carlos Mario Marín Arroyave (Akua), who shared their perspectives on the evolving landscape across policy, innovation, and infrastructure. A few key themes stood out: ⚖️ Mexico’s fintech regulation is evolving, balancing innovation with stronger compliance frameworks. 💳 Financial inclusion continues to deepen, with more consumers gaining access to formal financial services, yet cash remains dominant in everyday transactions, highlighting room for further digitization. 📈 Capital markets are showing renewed optimism, with investors returning as liquidity improves. 🤖 AI is moving from hype to impact, powering smarter collections, KYC, and fraud detection. 💱 Stablecoins are emerging as programmable money, but ensuring this new financial system expands access responsibly—with appropriate regulation, consumer protection, and practical use cases—will be key, especially as stablecoins gain traction in emerging markets. ⚙️ Modern infrastructure, from cloud-native payments to automated credit data, is unlocking faster and more inclusive financial systems. 11 years ago we launched Quona Capital. Soon after that, Singapore FinTech Festival was launched! We have jointly done our part in enabling fintech to transform the financial services landscape, and then some more. #SFF and it's patrons - Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)and Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) - have done a great job of highlighting the impact of fintech in transforming global financial services ecosystems and economic value chains. By the time we get to this time of the year, we all get reflective on how the year has shaped up. This has been a mixed year but the scale-ups and IPOs evident in a number of markets including India and the US highlight that fintech is back with a bang! Quona Capital collaborations and engagements in this year's #SFF highlight these developments - with Singapore Venture & Private Capital Association on exits materclass - with Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) for transformation of investing and entrepreneurial opportunities with AI - with HSBC on various fintech sessions - with PayPal, Citi and Finmo for a fintech happy hour - and several others Looking forward to the week ahead!

Across emerging markets, stablecoins are transforming from speculative tools into essential instruments of inclusion—helping people and businesses move money faster, cheaper, and more securely. But as we know at Quona Capital, innovation is only as strong as the infrastructure beneath it. That’s why we’re thrilled to back Pave Bank, a next-generation, licensed digital bank built for the Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 economy. Pave bridges the worlds of fiat and digital assets with a full-stack platform for business banking: current accounts, payments, digital asset custody, global transfers, and treasury management—all under one regulated roof. What makes Pave stand out? Its combination of a banking license and a proprietary tech stack that enables seamless, programmable transactions across fiat and stablecoin rails—offering speed, compliance, and reliability in a space that’s long been fragmented. Since launch, Pave has shown impressive traction—expanding deposits, clients, and transaction volume—while empowering businesses to operate effortlessly in a multi-asset world. 👏 Kudos to Salim Dhanani and the entire Pave team for building the trusted rails of tomorrow’s financial system. We’re proud to support Pave’s mission to bridge traditional and digital finance—and to help make programmable banking a driver of global inclusion. 🌍 More here: https://lnkd.in/ddMHTyaK #Fintech #FinancialInclusion #DigitalAssets #Stablecoins #Infrastructure #QuonaCapital #PaveBank

I've had the good fortune of working on a LOT of amazing projects during my years with Quona Capital, but the things I'm most proud of are steeped in creativity. This latest video might be my favorite of the series we've done. I concepted and wrote it alongside my creative partners at Habit Of Seeing LLC, and if you know my voice from the podcast or irl, you'll hear that I also recorded the voiceover for this one. SUCH a pleasure to make! Thank you Stephen Henderson. Let me know what you think! (And yes, since a couple of you have asked: I actually AM open to voice work! It's fun to do. Special thanks to Shure Incorporated for making me sound good.) Also thanks to my fantastic podcast partners at Pod People for their work with me that we cover in this video! Rachael King, Hannah Pedersen, Danielle Roth, Julie Balefsky and others too numerous to count. https://lnkd.in/eBpKBBvG
