The Race to Zero Waste is an urgent call to advocate for an equitable circular economy. October is #zerowastemonth.
About us
Race to Zero Waste is a nonprofit that brings the vision of Zero Waste to reality by taking action! Race to Zero Waste (R20W) is devoted to educating individuals on zero waste principles and simple actions through reuse, source reduction, re-earth, and avoidance of single-use plastics. R20W provides fun and engaging fundraising platforms through sponsored activities with information and tips geared toward waste-free living, promoting healthy and vibrant communities, and engagement of stakeholders. In addition, our team also provides fee-for-service work through its project Zero Waste California to special events, businesses, and institutions by providing outreach, education, zero waste audits, technical assistance, and implementation. Zero Waste principles will help heal our planet and protect its resources through resource conservation. These efforts can have a significant impact on greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. With our climate changing, there is an urgency to educate ourselves on its impact and how to prevent irreversible trends. The time is now for all of us to Race to Zero Waste!

In five months many National Recycling Coalition members organized the National Recycling Congress! The last standalone Congress (in person) was in 2008 in Pittsburgh, PA. Last year NRC partnered with a State Recycling Organization. As President, I wanted to host a retreat. The board made it happen and it was a day full of inspiration and great ideas to look at the organization strategically. Additionally, at the Congress I wanted indigenous wisdom, interactive sessions, diverse youth representation, be located in Region 7, have great food, dynamic speakers, entertainment, and I can say it was all achieved. Thanks to all that came to Wichita State University! Next Congress will be in Puerto Rico with Antonio Rios and his coalition as the affiliate host organization. 🇵🇷😍 National Recycling Coalition
