Robots helping install Curtainwall. Sounds like the future, right? Wrong. Just look at... Raise Robotics. This week, we revisit the Facade Focus podcast I recorded with Conley Oster Co-Founder at Raise Robotics. Conley and Raise are changing the way curtainwall is installed onsite. I love his approach to solving problems in the glazing industry. Tackling the shortage in high-quality labor supply and reducing safety risks on-site at the slab edge. Their robots are being deployed across the US and have completed project installs with some Premier Glazing Contractors. They’re out there making a real impact for facade crews. Delivering Safety, Speed AND Quality! Here’s a clip from my Facade Focus podcast with Conley sponsored by Architectural Glass & Aluminum Watch it. Then tell me….. How long until your Facade Crew is being helped by these Robots?

In a comprehensive article, ENR explores how better, more accurate data is delivering results on some of the smallest and largest jobsites, including a fast-tracked hospital project in Memphis, Tenn., that utilized Raise Robotics. Thanks to automation and robotics (and AI), data is being captured with never before realized accuracy, at scale. ENR highlighted our work with JR Butler on St. Jude Medical Center's $2.3B expansion as an example of how AI-powered robotics is helping contractors nail accuracy to avoid costly rework and delays. "When we crunched the numbers, the [Raise] robot beat our budget. Their price was less expensive than we could do it, and the accuracy eliminated the rework plaguing our manual approach," Raise Robotics customer Morgan patnode. Great to be part of this important conversation about the real and measurable impact innovative technologies are having on the construction sector. Thanks to Engineering News-Record and Jeff Yoders for including us in this comprehensive look at the industry. See the full article in the comments

The AEC industry saw a number of big venture deals this week, including Raise Robotics' announcement that it added $7.75 million in funding following a startup seed-funding round (led by MaC Venture Capital, with participation from Undivided Ventures and existing investors Cybernetix Ventures, Zacua Ventures, and Union Labs). This latest investment brings the company's total funding raised to $11.8 million. This is timely news as BuiltWorlds recently hosted Raise Robotics Co-Founder Conley Oster in a conversation on the evolving role of robotics on the jobsite. Alongside RoBuild CEO Amos H., Canvas Co-Founder & CEO Kevin Albert, and FORT Robotics Founder & CEO Samuel Reeves, our guests discussed how rapidly robotics are transforming, how the technology is being applied on jobsites today, and how certain, expected future advancements in the space will further transform their role in enhancing productivity, precision, and safety on jobsites. One concern listeners voiced during the webinar was the amount of training one might need to operate these robotic technologies. Oster explained that Raise is building their bots to be user friendly. "If you can work a total station, you can work our robot," he said, caveating that he recommends users still go through the company's two-day certification training course before taking the reigns.
