Today in #Sarajevo, RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanovic met with UN Resident Coordinator in Montenegro Resident Coordinator Caroline Tissot ⏭️ advancing shared goals in sustainable growth across our region of #WesternBalkans and #SouthEastEurope as one of the topics of today’s meeting. Regional cooperation remains the cornerstone of building a greener, more resilient, and inclusive future for all.

RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanovic met with UN Sustainable Development Group UNDCO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Gwi Yeop Son today in RCC Headquarters in #Sarajevo ⏭️ with green transition, digital transformation, and social inclusion as some of the topics of the meeting. Commitment to advancing sustainable development, inclusion, and regional cooperation across the #WesternBalkansSix & #SouthEastEurope remain crucial for a more connected and prosperous future for citizens of our region.

Human capital is #WesternBalkans’ greatest currency ⏭️ but it must become a region where people choose to stay and choose to return to. Tomorrow we’re in #Tirana for the opening of Western Balkans’ #HumanCapitalDays organised by RCC & our #ESAP3 Project together with UNDP in Europe and Central Asia, and in collaboration with European Commission. The event will bring together regional partners, governments, educational institutions, private sector, CSO, representatives of the European Commission, development partners and financial institutions to shape shared priorities and kick off new collaboration across the region. Today the new Ambassador of #Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alfred Grannas, met with RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanovic in #Sarajevo ⏭️ As a member of the RCC Board and initiator of the #BerlinProcess, Germany remains a valued partner in advancing #RegionalCooperation, improving connectivity and creating concrete initiatives that drive progress and strengthen regional ties.

Establishing strengthened collaboration between the RCC and UN Environment Programme with Letter of intent signed by RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanovic and UNEP Regional Director Arnold Kreilhuber today in #Vienna. This partnership was developed under framework of RCC Strategy and Work Programme, #GreenAgenda for the #WesternBalkans and the #SouthEastEurope2030 Strategy to ⏭️ promote coordinated regional action in addressing climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss and supporting the region’s just transition, climate adaptation, circular economy, depollution, nature-based solutions & sustainable tourism. RCC Deputy Secretary General Umut Ergezer at ABSL Western Balkans Conference in #Sarajevo for the “Western Balkans from the EU Lens” keynote speech ⏭️ Regional cooperation, championed by the RCC, enjoys strong public support, with citizens viewing it as beneficial for economic prosperity. Often, regional collaboration overcomes bilateral political tensions and achieves tangible results affecting citizens’ daily lives, with examples such as data roaming agreements, green lanes, mobility agreements permitting travel by ID cards, and the integration into the Single Euro Payments Area.

Kapetanović presented a package of 15 deliverables coordinated by the RCC, focusing on: 📈 Sustainable investment ♻️ Green Agenda  🧳 Regional tourism branding  🤝 Portability of social rights  whose endorsement the leaders confirmed today. "The results speak for themselves - fifteen concrete, RCC-led deliverables that will pave the way for stronger cooperation. I am also delighted to welcome the United Kingdom’s accession to the RCC Board, joining the club of 25 governments and the EU working to make our region better connected, more resilient, and steadily advancing toward EU membership.” said RCC SG Good to hear Leaders commend the RCC’s role and reaffirm commitment to regional cooperation under the Berlin Process.
