For the first time in history, renewables like solar and wind generated more electricity than coal in the first half of this year. Around the world, countries are moving aggressively to build clean energy, lower costs, and create jobs. Here in the United States, that progress is slowing. The International Energy Agency just cut its forecast for renewable energy growth by nearly 50 percent. Federal policy changes rolling back clean energy incentives and support are creating uncertainty and letting other nations take the lead. This is not only a climate risk. It is an economic one.
