Ruby Bio is excited to present at the ABLCNext 2025 conference in San Francisco this week. Our proprietary yeast fermentation platform can convert a wide range of waste feedstocks and sidestreams (crude glycerol, brewers' waste, mother liquors, polyol sidestreams, lignocellulosic, etc.) into high-value products for CPG and food ingredients markets. We would like to valorize your waste! Come learn more at ABLC's Hot Technologies Summit at 3pm this Thursday, October 23. #surfactants #emulsifiers #biobased #sidestream #lignocellulosic

"Imagine a glycerol-rich biorefinery or a nut processor in the San Joaquin Valley - Ruby could drop in fermentation tanks, spin side streams into surfactants, and ship product locally..." Ruby Bio is already converting corn sugar into drop-in replacements and higher-performing alternatives for a wide range of food ingredients and specialty chemicals. Now we will be building the same products from up-cycled waste feedstocks and sidestreams, with new funding from USDA and BEAM Circular. Read about it in Jim Lane's Biofuels Digest. #sustainability #upcycled #renewable https://lnkd.in/ghxskAwn

It was fun to share the back story on Ruby Bio with Beck Bamberger, PhD on BAM's Coffee with a Founder podcast. Check out the interview here: https://lnkd.in/gsTzH9vS
Intellectual honesty is a founder’s superpower. It means knowing what your technology can do, what it can’t, and when partnering with others beats reinventing the wheel. Charlie Silver, Co-Founder and CEO of Ruby Bio, knows that real progress in biotech comes from knowing your limits. His company is tackling the chemicals industry by focusing on what actually works, rather than chasing novelty for novelty’s sake. Hear Charlie share why thinking clearly about what’s possible can unlock innovation that lasts for generations on today’s Coffee with a Founder with Beck Bamberger, PhD: https://lnkd.in/ewE5ABn4

Ruby Bio's foundational technology was invented at University of California, Davis by researchers at the Phaff Yeast Culture Collection and the UC Davis Food Science and Technology department. The yeast platform converts sustainable sugar or up-cycled waste into high-performing chemicals and food ingredients. These products replace the synthetic chemicals that are routinely used in consumer products with alternatives that are clean, natural, and sustainable. This technology represents a paradigm shift for legacy chemicals by overhauling the $50B surfactant market with sustainable solutions, with equivalent cost and superior performance. The development of this technology has been underway for more than 10 years, and this commercial success story from the Phaff Yeast Culture Collection describes the history. Thanks to the extensive work at UC Davis, we were able to bring the platform to full commercial production in less than 2 years. We’re very proud to commercialize this technology in collaboration with UC Davis! #surfactants #biosurfactants #sustainability #renewable #biodegradable https://lnkd.in/gEhBBCaZ

Petroleum and palm oil feedstocks and ethoxylated chemistries are harmful to people, planet, and supply chains. Ruby Bio has commercialized the first biotechnology-based solution for laundry detergents that directly replaces the performance of mainstream chemicals such as SLS, SLES, and LAS! Join our presentation at the 2025 American Cleaning Institute conference to hear how Ruby Bio combines the best of biotechnology with the best of chemistry to deliver mainstream performance using bio-based and up-cycled waste feedstocks. Performance first... sustainably! #biosurfactants #surfactants #sustainability #decarbonization #aci2025
