We’re proud to support Kenya Education Fund in helping students like Cynthia aim high and works toward their goals.
Cynthia, a bright Form 2 student from Kibera, has big dreams of becoming a lawyer. She wants to ensure that people find justice, inspired by her desire to make the world fairer for others. Her journey to this point has not been easy. Before receiving her Kenya Education Fund (KEF) scholarship, Cynthia’s mother worried constantly about how to afford her school fees. “Actually, for me it was tough,” Cynthia shares. “I worked hard to get the scholarship so I could remove the burden that mom had, not being able to take me to high school.” When the news of her scholarship finally came, Cynthia felt both excited and relieved. “The scholarship is a blessing to me, mom, and my family,” she says with a smile. Now, she is thriving—not only in the classroom but also through KEF’s workshops, which have given her valuable life skills. “The best part is when we went to the workshop; it enabled me to have skills about life that I did not have.” For Cynthia, KEF means more than just education. It has given her family peace of mind and lifted the stress of school fees. She sums it up beautifully: “KEF gives the best foundation that has helped many children. May God bless you and continue with the same spirit.” Thanks to your support, Cynthia is free to focus on her studies, enjoy her favorite meals of pilau, play hockey, admire her favorite animal—the zebra—and grow into the justice-seeking lawyer she dreams of becoming. We’re very proud to support ForAfrika in their work fighting malnutrition in Angola.
You can't teach a child on an empty stomach. Last year, our education programmes reached more than 726,000 people through school feeding, support for early childhood development centres, hygiene initiatives, and improvements to school facilities. Through school meals and garden programmes, ForAfrika gives students both nutrition and practical skills. From planting food in a garden to receiving a daily bowl of porridge, these efforts help children grow strong and dream big. Together, we can turn hunger into hope, one plate at a time. #FoodSecurity #EndHunger #ForAfrika

Hear about exercise researcher Dr. Tom Parkington’s experience traveling from the UK to Greece for an SNF-supported Yorkshire Cancer Research fellowship with the nonprofit Regeneration & Progress.
"It’s important to give everyone the fair choice to take part in physical activity.” Having only ever visited Greece on holiday, Sheffield exercise researcher Dr Tom Parkington never expected to find some of the answers to his region’s health issues in a country 2,100 miles away. But a new fellowship exchange programme, funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) through its Global Health Initiative, gave Tom a seven-week placement in Greece which enriched his understanding of physical activity and its ability to change lives. Thanks to the programme, delivered in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University's Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) and Greece-based nonprofit Αναγέννηση & Πρόοδος | Regeneration & Progress, Tom is now bringing his specialist insight of exercise treatment back to the UK, helping people in Yorkshire and beyond enjoy more moments together. 📖 https://lnkd.in/es7JXmGE
