The St. Luke's Foundation held its annual board retreat on Oct. 7 - an energizing day that provided a great roadmap for the year ahead. We're incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our board of directors, led expertly by board chair Will Cravens. A highlight of the retreat was an insightful presentation by Alice Ayres, president and CEO of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. It was a significant privilege to host Alice, who illuminated current trends in health care philanthropy. Her deep expertise provided our board with a critical framework and valuable insights that will directly inform our work to fuel the mission and vision of St. Luke’s Health. We are immensely grateful to Alice for sharing her knowledge and to our entire board for their unwavering commitment to strengthening St. Luke’s impact on the health of the communities we serve.

What does a thriving health care community look like? We just experienced it! For us, it was the vibrant energy at the 2025 Fort Bend Health & Wellness Expo this week. In partnership with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, St. Luke's Health Sugar Land Hospital was thrilled to host an event where connection, innovation, and wellness converged. What an honor to engage with so many members of our Fort Bend community. Our team provided health resources and essential health services like flu shots, blood pressure screenings, and carotid artery screenings. Breast oncologists with Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center recommend women with a family history of cancer schedule a genetic risk assessment. They offer at-risk women a comprehensive review of their medical and family history, genetic counseling and testing, a treatment plan for breast cancer screening and risk reduction during their first appointment at the hospital’s Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center. Women with a family history of cancer have a higher than average risk for breast cancer. A family’s cancer history includes ovarian, pancreatic, aggressive prostate cancer or breast cancer diagnosed at 50 or younger. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancer #BreastCancerScreening
