Yesterday our students had an opportunity to participate in a "Classroom Talk" with The Crew Collaborative. Crew Collaborative strives to change the perceptions surrounding careers in the skilled trade and construction industries. Our students were invited to participate in the "Classroom Talk", a workforce development initiative focused on career paths. During the "Classroom Talk" our students were able to participate in a direct conversation with a panel of skilled professionals nationwide through an individualized, virtual presentation.

Thank you to St. Helen Catholic School for inviting us to participate in your High School Preview Night last night! We were excited to be there and talk to families about St. Peter Catholic and about our upcoming Open House on Saturday, November 15th. Thank you to our current St. Peter 9th Grade students who returned to their alma mater to help our Associate Director of Admissions Ms. Sierra (pictured left) at the St. Peter Catholic table.

On Wednesday afternoon, we took time after school to celebrate our very first St. Peter Catholic Athletics team - our Girls Volleyball team. The team played two games - one against a mix of faculty and parents / siblings, and another against their fellow students. After the games, we came together as a community to share a meal together, and our Volleyball Coach and Athletics Director Mrs. Fran Rice presented all the team members with certificates for their accomplishments.

Earlier this week we were pleased to host a visit from Dr. Alberto Urbina the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services at Houston City College Southeast Campus. It was a great conversation on how St. Peter Catholic can continue to expand our partnership with Houston City College and what opportunities that offers to our students and families. Pictured left to right are Dr. Marc Martinez, St. Peter Catholic Principal, Dr. Alberto Urbina, and Bart Thomeer - St. Peter Catholic Board Chairperson.

On Friday, our 9th Grade students had their first retreat as St. Peter Catholic students. The retreat's theme came from Matthew 4:19 "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men". The retreat held on the St. Peter Catholic campus, included talks by faculty & staff, talks by students who are part of our Campus Ministry Team, reflection & journaling time, a nature walk outside and time for fun and games together as a class. Our thanks to the students on our Campus Ministry Team for all of their help and support as well as to our Theology teacher Mrs. Calabrese, and our Counselor Mr. Zela for all of their time in leading the retreat.

Today, our school community came together in prayer and celebration for our monthly Mass. Fr. Henry, our Celebrant of the day, reminded us that October is the month of Mary and encouraged us to pray the Rosary. It was a powerful reminder of the beauty of our Catholic Faith. We thank members of our Campus Ministry Team (CMT) who participated and helped bring about today's Liturgy.
