Physicians, advanced practice providers, and health care leadership came together recently for the 3rd Annual Regional Cardiovascular Services Summit, hosted by St. Peter’s Health Partners and St. Joseph's Health. The event kicked off with a Continuing Medical Education course, providing attendees 3.0 hours of CME credit. Muhammad Khan, MD and Ziad El-Khally, MD, from St. Joseph’s Health Cardiovascular Institute in Syracuse, were joined by Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, president of Mt. Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital and physician-in-chief of Mt. Sinai Hospital. The CME session was followed by a presentation from Chief Strategy Officer Mark Murphy, who led the group through a cardiovascular forecast, complete with information on where the specialty is headed over the next several years. The keynote speaker, Marilyn Glassberg, MD, FACP, FCCP, the John W. Clarke endowed professor and chair of the department of medicine at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (Loyola Medicine), led a thought-provoking conversation among our teams about building a regional presence for cardiovascular services. “The discussions that took place both during and after Dr. Glassberg’s presentation were excellent,” said James Phillip, MD, St. Peter’s Health Partners, and co-chairperson of the summit. “We have the ability to really work together, between Albany and Syracuse, to build the best cardiovascular services in the region.” Thank you to all who participated!

Congratulations to Courtney C. Tackes, PharmD, MBA, and Thomas P. Lombardi, PharmD, FASHP, who were both recently recognized at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' 2025 Alumni Awards Celebration! 🎉 Courtney, SPHP's medication reconciliation supervisor and the director of the residency program, was presented with the Respect Values Award. Tom, SPHP's systems director of pharmacy, was recognized with the Friend of the College Award. Kudos!
