Governor Hobbs visited the 911 Dispatch Center at the Chandler Police Department to celebrate the release of the Next Generation 911 System. The system has made it easier for emergency responders to zero in on your location within 3 feet when contacting 911 from your cell phone, allows for people to text 911 if they’re in a situation where they can’t speak, or don’t have good service or battery life, and more. During the Governor’s visit, she engaged in the briefing on the system from the ADOA project team, toured the facility, and was able to listen in on calls coming in live with a call taker. Due to a processing error, some of the State of Arizona salary information that was published in an Arizona Republic story on Sept. 16 is not accurate. Some employee pay information is inflated in the currently published data. While the Arizona Department of Administration continues to inquire how it provided the inaccurate data, every effort is being made to provide accurate, timely information to The Arizona Republic as part of the state's commitment to transparency and open government.
