Europe, the space journey is yours. 🚀     As the European Space Agency celebrates five decades of exploration, the European Union proudly stands as the key partner.     Space is where our groundworks lift off. We are investing nearly €15 billion in the EU space programmes for the period 2021–2027.     From Galileo’s precision navigation to Copernicus’ earth observation, and the upcoming EU Secure Connectivity Programme IRIS2, EU-backed missions deliver real impact, right here, on Earth.     Our goal: to drive sustainability, strengthen security and spark innovation through cutting-edge satellite technology.     Toward a stronger, better future tomorrow.  Let the sky unite us.

The curved blue and white surface of the Earth is visible along the bottom edge. In the upper centre, the text reads: "Europe unites in space". In the bottom right corner is the logo of the European Parliament, a stylised version of the European Commission logo.

  • 🚀 STEP - EU Project latest achievements ! 🔹 𝗥𝗢𝗜𝗖 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 (ISAE-SUPAERO) The Read-Out Integrated Circuit (#ROIC) is the brain of an infrared sensor. It processes the signals detected and turns them into usable data. The design is now complete and will be ready for fabrication soon. With the last technical questions resolved, this is a major step toward ensuring Europe can develop its own high-performance infrared imaging technology thanks to our project! 💡✅ 🔹 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗨𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗥𝗥 (IRnova AB) Before being used in space, sensors must be tested in extreme conditions. IRnova has upgraded its test setup to validate the performance of eSWIR detectors in-house. This includes new equipment that can replicate the cold temperatures these sensors will face in orbit. With this setup, we can now ensure these European-made detectors meet the highest standards for space applications. 🔎   🌍 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿? Infrared sensors reveal what the human eye cannot see. They are key to monitoring climate change, tracking environmental changes, and advancing space exploration. By developing these technologies in Europe, we reduce dependence on external suppliers and reinforce European leadership in space imaging. These latest developments bring us closer to one of STEP’s key goals: making eSWIR sensors a reality for future space missions, with technology developed and tested in Europe.🚀🌍 ➡️ Learn more about the project and its goals here: https://step-project.eu/
