✨ SynGRID workshop: From Research to Market – Tools for Successful Technology Transfer The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT) organised and hosted a practical workshop to help researchers turn their work into products and services people can use. Experts from UNICO.Analytics s.r.o. led engaging sessions with clear explanations, real examples, and hands-on practice. Participants analysed their own results, learned how to protect ideas through patents, explored routes to market via licensing and spin-offs, and practised negotiation in realistic simulations. The outcome? More confidence, clearer steps, and practical tools to move ideas from lab to market, strengthening innovation across FERIT and partner institutions. 🚀💪 👉 Read the full recap: https://lnkd.in/dWXn3FGG #SynGRID #FERIT #Innovation #Research #Patents #Licensing #SpinOffs #UniversityIndustry #TechTransfer

Traditionally, the final year master students with the member of our department participated in the international #conference #MIPRO 2025 on June 2nd and visited LNG terminal Krk the following day. In the panel Green Transition of the Power System – R&D Projects, the students had an opportunity to learn how different institutions approach changes in power systems, explore current research topics, and follow the discussion on the readiness of the electricity market for an accelerated energy transition. Among the presenters was Tomislav Antić, who presented the project SynGRID, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in #research and #development. Besides general information about the project, his presentation addressed potential applying AI/ML algorithms in data processing and calculations in low voltage networks. Mirna Gržanić Antić presented the project WeForming, underlining the role of #smartbuildings in providing flexibility to the #powersystem. Petra Drašković presented the project #CHESS, where she highlighted the potential of hydrogen in enhancing flexibility in renewable-rich power systems. Professor Hrvoje Pandzic chaired the important and interesting round table in the afternoon session, asking relevant questions that helped to learn the importance of different entities in accelerating energy transition. On June 3rd, Tomislav Antić also participated in the Special Session Information and Communication Technology in the Electric Power Sector and delivered a talk titled "Distributed Generation and Power System Resilience: Concepts, Models, and Academic Community Solutions ". In his presentation, he demonstrated how RES-based power systems can provide inertia and contribute to system resilience and increased flexibility. On June 3rd, the group visited the LNG terminal on the island of Krk, a key infrastructure project in Croatia’s energy landscape. During the visit, participants gained insights into the terminal’s role in ensuring energy security, its technical capabilities, and its relevance in the context of the ongoing energy transition and diversification of energy supply sources. We are already looking forward to next year’s conference and the possibility for our students to gain experience and hear first-hand insights from leading experts in the energy sector.
