Precision and protection from the start. In International Hatchery Practice (39.), Andrew Smith looks at how TARGAN Inc. vaccine delivery system offers a chick-by-chick approach to vaccination. Using artificial intelligence, the system delivers precise ocular doses at high throughput, reducing vaccine waste and variation in immune response while supporting flock uniformity. - Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eNw-963F - Could this level of precision change the way hatcheries approach vaccination in the future? #hatchery #poultryhealth #vaccinedelivery #biosecurity

Last week, the CED (Center for Entrepreneurial Development) team returned to Targan to see just how far they’ve come—and it’s an inspiring story. We first met founders Ramin Karimpour and Hector Badillo back in 2015. At that time, their idea was little more than a PowerPoint deck: a better way to deliver a vaccine to chickens to prevent coccidiosis. The concept raised eyebrows and some skepticism. Was this an animal health company? A factory automation company? And could they really do this at the scale of the U.S. poultry industry— with some 9.5 billion chickens raised for meat each year? Fast forward to today: TARGAN Inc. has moved far beyond the drawing board. They now have major installations across #NorthAmerica and #Europe, with expansion into other parts of the world already in motion. Each Targan system can be monitored remotely from its global #HQ in #Raleigh. Their breakthrough system uses advanced high-speed imaging and precision spraying to deliver #vaccines with pinpoint accuracy and speed (120,000 chicks an hour!) Along the way, they discovered another massive opportunity: replacing the traditional, labor-intensive process of sexing chicks with an #AI-and #machinelearning–driven system that delivers 98% accuracy—cutting labor costs and improving feed-to-protein efficiency. With dozens of patents, they’re not only expanding #globally in poultry but also applying their core technology to new solutions for #aquaculture and #swine, opening doors to transform food production systems worldwide. From the early days of uncertainty to today’s global growth, CED has been proud to support Targan’s journey—offering guidance, connections, and a platform to share their vision. And knowing Ramin’s tenacity and inventive spirit, we wouldn’t bet against him revolutionizing every corner of the food system. AI is reshaping poultry vaccination, tackling scale, precision, and flock health. In International Hatchery Practice (39.5), TARGAN Inc. explores how automation, high speed imaging, and AI are addressing long standing challenges in poultry immunisation. From improving vaccine accuracy and reducing waste to strengthening flock immunity and lowering reliance on antibiotics, these innovations are setting new standards in disease prevention. by integrating real-time data and precision delivery, producers can improve welfare, safeguard supply chains, and respond more effectively to industry pressures. - Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eKNwidTu - How do you see AI changing poultry health management in years ahead? #internationalhatcherypractice #hatcheryinsights #poultryvaccination #animalhealth
