This past Friday, October 3, I had the privilege of participating in The Andrew P. Stewart Center’s annual Fall Into Service event. Approximately 50 volunteers from across Atlanta - including amazing teams from PwC and At-Bay - came together to refresh and beautify our affordable housing properties. Keeping these homes well-maintained isn't just about appearances. It's about dignity, safety, and community pride. Everyone deserves a place that feels cared for. With nonprofit funding under pressure, our work depends more than ever on volunteers and supporters. If you're interested in serving, learning more, or partnering with the Stewart Center, please reach out. Thanks again to everyone who showed up and made a difference.

As we close out the The Andrew P. Stewart Center’s Fall Into Service Day I can’t help but marvel at the fact that days of service and hands on work never stop being rewarding. At the conclusion of 5+ years with the New York Junior League I knew I needed some time off. Chairing an amazing group of women and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars through charity events in NYC was incredibly rewarding even with its unique challenges (as my conchairs and successors Amy Matson and Taylor Bennett can attest to), but our move to Atlanta meant a pause in my service work with new family members and responsibilities to wrangle. While my hiatus has definitely been a bit longer than I had envisioned, today has been the jump start I needed to restart the search for my next passion project. Always grateful to my Alma Mater, the University of Mississippi , and its greek system for making service and philanthropy a priority and a pleasure. And a shout out to At-Bay for creating a culture where your coworkers support you, in the office and in the field—thank you Zachary Dukes for joining! Bonus: a #FBF from the 2015 Ole Miss Big Event! Great to see then ➡️ now.

  • The Stewart Center's annual Fall into Service event is on Friday, October 3. Through sweat equity, volunteers will advance affordable housing and build connections with other supporters and our neighbors. This year there will be opportunities to do landscaping, pressure washing, painting, and minor repairs. Volunteer activities will run from 1–5 p.m., followed by a Happy Hour at Wild Heaven (first drink is on us!). Fall into Service is a great opportunity to: ✅ Contribute directly to providing affordable housing for our neighbors ✅ Volunteer with a group of friends or colleagues ✅ Learn more about the Stewart Center and connect with fellow supporters Sign up with your colleagues here: https://lnkd.in/ekFJc2eB

  • This holiday season, we are exploring lessons from A Christmas Carol. No matter the adaptation you’re familiar with, there’s a connection between this nearly 200 year old story to the Center’s current community development work. Read the full blog at link in bio and considering supporting our work in 2025.

For many children, there are factors beyond school that get in the way of their success, such as lack of early learning opportunities, the absence of support systems outside of traditional schooling hours, and a lack of stable housing. The Andrew P. Stewart Center works tirelessly to provide children in Atlanta's Pittsburgh neighborhood with the best chance to be successful. It provides after-school and summer academic support and enrichment free of charge to local children and provides affordable housing for their families. If you are looking for ways to give back on this #GivingTuesday, please consider supporting The Andrew P. Stewart Center.
