The Children's Cabinet

Today, the First 5 Nevada Family Leadership Council held our final in-person meeting of the year and what a meaningful close it was. I stepped into the coordinator role exactly one year ago this week, and the journey has been nothing short of transformative. My biggest goal this year was to bring in practical tools and resources that empower families to better understand and engage with their communities. Today’s gathering was a beautiful reflection of that mission. We were joined by incredible partners from the Family Navigation Network (FNN), First 5 Nevada, the Pyramid Model team and QITM from The Children’s Cabinet. Families carry wisdom, lived experience, and unique perspectives and today showed how important their voices are in building stronger communities. 👏

✨ When school started feeling overwhelming, Lucinda began to lose motivation and direction. A traditional classroom setting didn’t work for her, and she wasn’t sure what her next step would be. That’s when she enrolled at Redfield Academy, part of The Children’s Cabinet’s education programs designed to help students find success in their own way. With encouragement and support from caring staff, Lucinda began to rebuild her confidence and focus on her goals. Through Cabinet Ink, our youth-run digital printing business, she discovered something new — a passion for photography and digital design.
