Three Nines Children’s Charity recently attended the Victim Support (Homicide) National Conference in Birmingham to share how early, trauma-informed support helps children and families impacted by crime. Our Service Delivery Manager Diane Watts and Charity Ambassador Paul Price highlighted the importance of compassionate, timely intervention. Diane shared how early support helps families begin to heal, while Paul shared his powerful personal story of recovery following the Manchester Arena tragedy, illustrating the lasting impact of trauma and the need for ongoing care. 💙 We love hearing from the families we support. Here’s what one dad shared about the difference a holiday made for him and his son: "I would just like to take a moment to say thank you so much for the amazing opportunity you have given us to enjoy such a fantastic family break together. We are truly grateful for the chance to step back from our everyday life and struggles, look back and reflect on the past year, and most importantly, create so many happy memories together. It was a much needed break and we appreciate it beyond words. We honestly didn't feel like it was possible to find real enjoyment in our daily routine after everything, but this holiday showed us that happiness and quality family time is still possible. It wouldn't have happened without you — we are truly grateful. I was able to have my first ever holiday with my son, and that is something I will treasure forever. It's a memory we'll both carry with us for a lifetime now. That smile on Reiley's face was amazing for me to see and a huge change from how we have all been feeling." 💙 You can help make more moments like this possible. Every donation gives children and families impacted by crime the chance to recover, rebuild, and create lasting memories. Last week, Three Nines was honoured to join the London Fire Brigade’s Phoenix Team for their powerful Conference on Domestic Violence. Our CEO, Anne Campbell Gunn, contributed to the panel discussion, sharing the perspective of children and young people — some of the most innocent victims of domestic abuse — and the importance of trauma-informed approaches across all frontline services. The commitment shown by the London Fire Brigade’s leadership, and the work of the Phoenix Team, are truly inspiring — showing what it looks like when awareness turns into action, and policy becomes protection. We’re proud to stand alongside the London Fire Brigade and partners including Hestia, White Ribbon, Solace, and Galop, who are driving meaningful, lasting change.
