The buzz around AI is drowning out the real conversation that needs to happen. It's not about the technology. It's arguably never been about the technology. It's all about work design. It's about giving workers employability over employment, scaling efficiency patterns, and transforming expertise instead of replacing it. It's also about finally breaking down the silos that exist in most large orgs. Perhaps once and for all. If you want to stay on top of the capital C Change that workforces are experiencing right now, you won't want to miss this week's episode of the Only Constant: 👉 On Apple Podcasts: https://hubs.ly/Q03rb_Mw0 👉 On Spotify: https://hubs.ly/Q03rc6l80

"You're either leading change or you're not leading at all." With organizations facing more transformations than ever, this hard truth from Roger Guerrero cuts deep. As a change leader, you know the challenge: middle managers often wait for someone else to fix change adoption issues when they themselves know their teams best. Ready to thaw the 'frozen middle' of your org? This week's podcast episode of The Only Constant breaks down why organization-wide business adaptability isn't optional anymore—it's survival. There are 3 types of business leaders that emerge during large changes: 1. The Bulldozer: Believes they can bulldoze their way through with the attitude “if I say so, people must do so”. 2. The Sugar Coater: Tells everyone how everything is going to be a fairytale and everyone is going to win. The change is a win-win-win for customers, employees and Wall Street! Wow! 3. The Truth Teller: Understands that the change will be disruptive to several groups, a win for a few groups, and a loss for others, and seeks to engage them in differentiated and meaningful ways depending on their respective level of impact. Group 3 yield by far the most successful transformation outcomes. And for good reason. They understand that change requires consensus from those it will disrupt. Read that again. Change requires consensus from those it will disrupt. For most leaders, that sentence is a total oxymoron. Most leaders believe one or more of the following: 1. If you are disrupting people, you will never gain their consensus 🚫 2. In order to gain consensus, you cannot be disruptive 😇 3. Disruption cannot require consensus, as it then wouldn’t be disruptive 🤔 That’s why so few leaders succeed in leading change. The Bulldozer thinks you need to bulldoze in order to disrupt. The Sugar Coater believes you need to gain consensus above everything else. Only the Truth Tellers understand that it is indeed possible to gain consensus from those the change will disrupt. And that in doing so lies the power to drive real and lasting change. Because nothing is more powerful than people working together to disrupt themselves.
