Years ago in my San Diego office, three badass recruiters (Taylor Shankle, Krystle Dozier Wurster, Meghan) and me had just placed this incredible Art Director at Target. HUGE win. I was scrolling through portfolios afterward and saw this print. I'd been obsessing over it forever. Had it pinned on every mood board, saved on every device, probably sketched it on napkins because, hello, former art director brain. So I did something crazy. I bought it. Big. Not the small version. Not the "maybe someday" version. The real deal. This beauty has traveled with me through three different San Diego offices, all the way up to Palo Alto where I've been crushing it for 15 years. It's the FIRST thing that goes up in every single space I claim - home office, client office, coffee shop corner, you name it. Why am I telling you this? Because it represents everything we do as recruiters. We advocate, we believe in your talent when you forget to believe in yourself. We celebrate the hell out of your wins. But you need to celebrate your wins too. Got a new job? MARK IT. Landed that promotion? CELEBRATE IT. Finished that project that nearly broke you? HONOR IT. Doesn't have to cost a fortune. Could be a print, a plant, a bottle of champagne, a tattoo (no judgment here). But do something that makes you stop and say "I did that. I'm proud of that." I look at this piece every single day and feel nothing but pride. For that placement. For building something that matters. For believing in myself enough to buy the big version. That's what I want for every single one of you. Stop waiting for permission to celebrate yourself. Your wins matter. Your growth matters. YOU matter. What's the last win you actually celebrated?
