It was inspiring to see so many Ohio United Ways come together this week for the 2025 ALICE Policy Summit in Columbus. More than 20 United Ways from across the state joined legislators, business leaders, and community partners to discuss how we can keep working people working in Ohio.   Together, we’re advocating for practical solutions that help families achieve lasting economic stability, like affordable childcare, reliable transportation, workforce supports, and coordinated services through United Way and 211.   Working together is essential to addressing such a complex challenge and creating meaningful change for Ohio’s working families.   We’re grateful to all the Ohio United Ways who participated in this important conversation. Rockwell Automation kicked off their United Way campaign this week! Led by longtime executive sponsor Scot Tutkovics, VP of Engineering, the campaign reflects Rockwell’s strong commitment to giving back to Greater Cleveland. “Giving back to Cleveland is one of the parts of working at Rockwell that I’m most proud of,” said Tutkovics. We joined partners at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Community Resource Center for a conversation with Rep. Mike Dovilla, Ed.D. on state and federal health and nutrition policies. Together with Cuyahoga Community College, The MetroHealth System (Cleveland, OH), Towards Employment, Greater Cleveland Works, and others, we shared how new work requirements for Medicaid and SNAP could impact the people we serve, and discussed how legislation like House Bill 163 could help prevent benefit theft. We also talked about ways to partner more closely with the administration and lawmakers on long-term solutions. Thank you to our partners for sharing insights from the field. and to Rep. Dovilla for listening and engaging on issues affecting families across our region.
