Cassie Fritch’s journey with Omaha Area Youth Orchestras (OAYO) began as a curious young flutist. Today, she manages youth music programs and operations for the organization that helped shape her path. OAYO provides orchestral experiences to more than 200 students annually, many of whom receive scholarship support through the UNO Fund. Now housed within the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Music, OAYO is expanding access to classical music and removing cost barriers for students eager to grow as musicians. That kind of impact resonates far beyond the stage. ⬇️

Now she’s editor-in-chief of a student-led newsroom with 75 staff members. The paper’s 125-year legacy continues thanks to the Daily Nebraskan Editorial Support Fund, which provides salaries and stability to student journalists. Josie’s story is a reminder — investing in student media is investing in future leaders. Read more ⬇️
