Chicago Architecture Center
The Chicago Park District has revealed the first iteration of its long-awaited Grant Park Framework Plan, charting a vision for remodeling and expanding the 319-acre park over the coming years. UrbanWorks, Ltd., Confluence, BRUSH Architects, LLC and APMonarch Architecture led the design, informed by community input. Major elements of the plan include: • Putting streets that crisscross the park on a "road diet" with more bike infrastructure, speed tables, and dedicated bus/trolley lanes • An option to close Congress to vehicles between Columbus Drive and Michigan Ave, enlivening Congress Plaza in the process • Retooling the lakefront promenade • New walkways across Butler Field to improve park access and connectivity • New bike & ped bridge over DuSable Lake Shore Drive (DLSD) between Maggie Daley Park and improved harbor park space • More restrooms • Sinking and capping of DLSD between Jackson and Balbo to create more green space and a safe pedestrian connection between Queen's Landing and Buckingham Fountain • And, last but not least, capping the Metra tracks between Roosevelt and Monroe, alleviating this grade disruption within the park and expanding green space significantly We'd love to hear your thoughts! Great partnerships with Triversity Construction, BHDP Architecture, Motz Engineering and RCF Group made this 30,000-square-foot fit-out for Cincinnati Children's a design-build success. Located in the Uptown Gateway development, the project encompassed approximately 40 offices, 90 workstations, huddle rooms, breakout areas, and lactation and wellness rooms. #WeAreBuilding

CRG
We’re proud to announce that CRG, in partnership with Related Midwest and 548 Enterprise, has officially started construction on The Cubes at Roosevelt & Kostner in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. This two-building, 364,102-square-foot campus will transform a long-vacant site into a modern logistics hub and community asset, with the first delivery expected in 2026. The project is designed not only to create best-in-class #industrial space but also to deliver lasting #community impact. It will generate over 125 #construction jobs and 250 permanent positions, while also providing opportunities for workforce #development, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth. Key features include two Class A industrial buildings with 36-foot clear heights, efficient logistics design, and sustainable building systems. In addition, the development will incorporate a 3-megawatt rooftop solar array to provide affordable clean energy to 500 low-income households on Chicago’s West Side. The Cubes at Roosevelt & Kostner will also feature Innovation Centers donated to local nonprofits Black Men United and NCCDC, providing space for job training, small business support, and community gatherings. A new three-acre public park designed by site design group, ltd. will add green space, native landscaping, and recreational amenities for residents. The partnership is excited that this industrial development has the opportunity to drive economic and community value. The Cubes at Roosevelt & Kostner reflect this mission, and we’re honored to work alongside Alderwoman Monique Scott of the 24th Ward, our partners, and the City of Chicago to bring it to life.
