Healthy ecosystems are the unsung heroes of Earth, quietly providing us with clean air, fresh water, wildlife habitats, and food. But they’re under pressure like never before. Five years ago, we set a goal to protect more land than we use by 2025 and I’m excited to share that we surpassed that goal by 30% this year. We’ve permanently preserved nearly 16,000 acres, an area larger than the island of Bermuda. And we’re on track to protect even more. But our efforts go beyond the numbers. We’re weaving biodiversity into our operations – from supporting pollinator habitats and integrating ecological design into datacenters, to partnering with conservation groups and applying innovative technologies to monitor and restore ecosystems. The Lamparek Creek project in Wisconsin is a great example. It’s reversing decades of damage by stabilizing 51 streambanks, restoring native vegetation, and improving stormwater systems to create healthier habitats and better recreation for local communities. Protecting ecosystems isn’t just good for the planet. It’s essential for our health, our economies, and our future.
