National Account Manager – Lawn & Garden

What You Need for This Role:

Education & Experience:

MUST HAVE Experience with WALMART at the Corporate level, not Regional level.

  • BS/BA in Business or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive consumer product goods (CPG) sales leadership experience.
  • Experience in Outdoor Power Equipment preferred.
  • Proven track record of consistent sales growth and results.
  • Strong account management experience handling multiple product categories and customers.
  • Knowledge of sales processes, category management, and supplier/retailer relations.
  • Experience with customer P&L creation and management, sales planning, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in project and trade spending management.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while being self-motivated.
  • Experience with major retailers such as Walmart, Lowe’s, and Home Hardware preferred.
  • Private label and national brand experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build new sales channels from the ground up.

Work Environment & Travel:

  • Remote role with up to 30% travel.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends based on business needs.
  • Typical office setting with some in-person meetings and travel to customer locations.


What You Will Do:

  • Drive Sales Growth & Market Leadership
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to position the company as the #1 choice for aftermarket trimmer accessories in Lawn & Garden.
  • Lead and develop a team to drive sales and expand omnichannel growth in Mass and Home Hardware channels.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share.

Strategic Account Management

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key retailers and buyers.
  • Align execution plans with retailers’ strategic initiatives to maximize sales.
  • Champion and present omnichannel strategies to retail partners to drive engagement and collaboration.
  • Oversee national and private label brand management.

Execution & Performance Measurement

  • Develop and manage sales forecasts, KPIs, and scorecards to track performance.
  • Analyze retail pricing, competitive activity, and marketplace trends to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure flawless execution of new product launches within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Oversee trade budget and spending to maximize ROI and profitability.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Development, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to execute company programs.
  • Drive product innovation and merchandising strategies to meet customer needs.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to sales teams and brokers, ensuring ongoing development and performance improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate invoicing and timely resolution of customer deductions.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records and sales reports.
  • Monitor and report on competitive activities and market trends.
  • Represent the company professionally at sales meetings, industry trade shows, and customer events.
