- [Instructor] Affiliate marketing can also be described as a cost per acquisition marketing or CPA marketing, but this can be broken down further into what's known as CPS marketing or cost per sale marketing. So you as an affiliate will normally get reimbursed whenever someone you refer to an affiliate product makes a purchase. So in other words, when they make a purchase, you make a commission. That is the most popular form of affiliate marketing. However, there is also something known as CPL marketing. This is cost per lead marketing where you as an affiliate can promote an affiliate product and when someone becomes a lead, you get paid. They don't have to actively become a customer. They just have to be a lead and you can still get affiliate commissions.
