Understanding the sharing concept
- [Instructor] The Android philosophy is to share media, which differs from a computer concept of attaching or copying media. When you want to share something, you start with a source, an image, movie, music, contact, or other item you want to share. Look for the Share icon, or if not found, a Share action on the Action Overflow. Choose it, then select the app to use for sharing; text message, email, social media, and so on. I need to upload an image to a producer who's considering hiring me. This is the image in the Photos app. Tap the Share icon shown here. Next, choose the app with which to share the photo. Options are available here and I'm going to email the photo, so I choose Gmail. Here I can proceed with sending the message with my photo as an email attachment, though, unlike a computer, I start with the image, Share and then choose the app. Say instead, I wanted to edit this image on my computer.
