Importing and exporting project data to Excel spreadsheets
- [Instructor] One of the most powerful features of Plant 3D is that we can export the data into an Excel spreadsheet and make the edits externally. Once complete, we just simply import the spreadsheet and have the revised data pushed into the drawings. I'm going to demonstrate this by exporting an equipment list, adding some data and then reimporting the data into the Plant 3D drawing. Let's go ahead and open 07_05_DATA. Now, we're going to look in Data Manager and we're going to look through into our current drawing and we're going to just filter for pumps. Now, you should see three centripetal pumps here. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to export this, I'm going to add some information such as the manufacturer, another couple little pieces of information we can add in and when we import this back in it should batch update that manufacturer field inside Data Manager and also inside each piece of equipment.
