What you should know

- [Instructor] Prior to watching this module it's a great idea if you have a few things set up ahead of time so you can follow along. Starting out, you need to have an Azure login. That means going to portal.azure.com and creating an account if you haven't already done so. You'll need to create a user ID, password and you'll also need to enter a credit card, although it won't be charged unless you start purchasing some services. It's a great idea to have Azure experience with Entra ID. Entra Id used to be called Azure Active Directory, but has been recently renamed. Entra ID has a list of all the different users and what their roles are in each of your different tenants that you might have. A tenant is a group of users and a grouping of domains that you can use for various different services. If you have any security experience, that's also a great thing to bring to this course. It could be security with a client such as Windows 10 or 11, or with a server such as Windows Server 2019, 2022, or the latest 2025. And it's a great idea to have experience with networking where you can allow two or more computers to be able to talk to each other using TCP ip. And if you have Windows server and client experience, that's also a plus. We'll be working with various different servers, as well as clients throughout this course. And an understanding of active directory is a great thing to have. Entra ID is not on-premises active directory, but there's a lot of commonality between the two different programs and applications. Although you don't need to have advanced prior knowledge, some knowledge about both cloud and on-premises resources will help with comprehension in this course.
