- DaVinci Resolve allows you to create a special kind of bin called a Smart Bin. Smart Bins use metadata to create bins that automatically add footage, based on parameters you enter, they're kind of like live bins. Does it sound confusing? It's not, once you see it in action. To make sure your Smart Bins are enabled, if you don't see it down here already, in the lower part of your bin view, you can come up to view and choose, show Smart Bins. We've already got it selected here. I can hover over the border between our regular bins, and our Smart Bin to bring this up and give us a little more room. And now I'm going to right click, and add Smart Bin, so now I can create my own custom bin, and the bins view down here actually updates in real time, as we write out the logic of this bin, so I'm going to call this, dad, I want everything with dad in this bin.
