Understanding machine learning. What is machine learning? There isn't a definition that everybody agrees with about machine learning. But I like to define machine learning by contrasting it with traditional programming. So imagine traditional programming. You are in front of your computer and you type your code, you type a program, and then you're going to give some data to the program, and the program is going to give an output, so we can illustrate that with an example. Imagine you write a web app to list some houses in a marketplace. So you have the program, the web app. Then maybe you have a user that can select some filters. So he wants two rooms. He wants certain amount of square meter square feet, and then the program is going to compute that, and it's going to output a list of houses that match the criteria.
