- If you've been making web content for a while, you're probably familiar with GIF and you might be asking yourself, "Why is this file format still alive?" There are so many things about the GIF format that are troublesome, from large file sizes to low quality color, but the secret is, is that GIFs just continue to work and continue to be used. You'll see them all the time in Slack messages or on social media timelines, posted as reactions or memes. It's just a really common thing that continues to exist. So let me show you how we can take a video file and turn it into a GIF. What I'm going to do here is go over to the video page and you'll see convert to GIF. Now what I'm going to do here is upload a video file and let's take this clip here, you'll see it loads and I can still adjust the in and out points as needed. There we go.
