- Now, we did a lot of work to improve these images, and I might need it again in the future. Maybe I want to export a different resolution or a different aspect ratio. Well, I don't have to start over each time. Most of these tools have the ability to create an archival copy. If you're using a non-destructive editing tool like Lightroom, you might bake everything into a new DNG file. But if you're using a pixel editor, Photoshop's one of the most popular ones, you can save a project file. You can also save project files with most tools these days. It gives you the ability to come back and work with the photo again in the future. In this case, what I'm going to do is save my work. Now here I open things up as flattened layers. This one, we have more layers in place, color correction, and other choices, generative fill, et cetera. I'll do file, save as, and this lets me name the file as well as save it as a layered document and I can click save to store it. And now we have the layered…
