- When it comes time to you saving pictures for the web, there's a lot you could do before you post to make those images look their best. Now, I'm going to focus mostly on Adobe Photoshop here, but you can use any imaging tool to do this. Similar things exist in Lightroom, Photos from Mac OS, Photos on the Windows operating system. All the tools are very similar, so just learn the concepts here of what you need in a photo. Let's start by opening up an image. A lot of times the pictures you are going to receive are going to be in a file format that is not ready for the web. For example, here I have two raw files, A DNG file captured by an iPhone, and a raw file captured by a Sony camera. In both of these cases, these are not web ready. If you were to post this, the file size would be way too large, even something that might be the right file format, such as JPEG, comes out of a camera at a file size and a resolution that's just unusable, and won't load well on a website or a social…
