When I use Codex CLI on my Mac, it works fast and smooth, but when I switch to Windows, it becomes really slow. After some research, I found the reason and the fix. Codex is made for Linux systems, not Windows, and that’s why it has problems with commands and file handling on Windows. ✅ Solution: Use WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux). It gives Codex a real Linux environment inside Windows and makes it much faster and more stable. I wrote a simple guide with step-by-step setup to help you fix this issue.

The more you learn about Linux, the more you would dislike or get frustrated with Windows 😬 Did you know everything is a file on Linux? All system resources—from hardware devices to processes—are accessed and managed through simple, transparent, editable text files. You will learn to appreciate this only when you work with configurations on Windows Registry 😜

Yet another reason Windows (w/o WSL) is horrible for developers. When you add a new tool to Linux, you can keep your current session and refresh the environment with "source ~/.bashrc". In Windows, you need to reopen Terminal for it to see new commands, losing your session and directory location in the process.

Today, I took some time to explore how filesystems and partitions work—key components that keep our data organized and accessible on storage devices. 🔹 Filesystems: NTFS (Windows), ext4 (Linux), FAT32 — all support reading and writing across major OS platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS). FAT32 has a notable limitation: it doesn’t support files larger than 4GB and maxes out at 32GB for partition size. 🔹 Partitions: MBR (Master Boot Record): Supports up to 4 primary partitions with a maximum partition size of 2TB. GPT (GUID Partition Table): Supports unlimited primary partitions and works seamlessly with disks larger than 2TB. .

You can now run Windows programs within Linux. This is really cool, because Linux is open source and free, the virtual machine program is open source and free, and the Windows 11 iso file is free. The only thing you need is a compatible (or able) computer, and to pay for subscription services such as Adobe CC. Here is a video by ‘Some Ordinary Gamers’ on YouTube that describes how to get things up and running. https://lnkd.in/ewqYkcqs
