AI in Government: Advancing the Agentic State In an era of near-permanent crisis and rapidly rising public expectations, governments must evolve – from digitized institutions to AI-powered systems that sense, learn, and act in real time. At the Berlin Global Dialogue, I joined an inspiring panel discussion “AI in Government: Advancing the Agentic State” together with: 🇦🇪 Mohammed Bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services, United Arab Emirates 🇬🇷 Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of Economy and Finance of Greece 🇨🇦 Sean Kask, Chief AI Strategy Officer, SAP We explored how Agentic AI can strengthen state capacity, enhance decision-making, and make governance more responsive, data-driven, and citizen-focused, while maintaining democratic accountability and trust. I also shared Ukraine’s approach – from developing sovereign AI infrastructure and a national large language model, to launching Diia.AI, the first AI assistant in the world designed to provide real public services. The transformation toward an agentic state is not just a technological shift — it’s a new chapter in how governments serve their people. The challenge ahead is to make this transformation secure, ethical, and human-centered.
